There are a few (maybe more than a few) magazine articles featuring the 06 Hertz when it was first announced. Some of these are available in print and on the web, but some are only web. I didn't bother keeping the little one-liner blurbs, just went for the substantive articles.

Here is a list of the links I found a while back:

where did you get that hat?????????

I realy want it to set on the dash board at cruise nights

There have been several of the hats on ebay periodically. I picked one up a few weeks ago for $24 from a Hertz employee. Keep your eyes peeled on ebay.

When we rented 07H314 in Ft Lauderdale, my girlfriend asked the agent if they had any hertz apparel that we could buy, she looked at her like she was completlely crazy, then we explained that we had just bought a 2006 GT-H. When we were getting our walk around of the 07 GT-H she brought out the shelby hat for us. She really made our rental experience even better.

Another "must have" are sure the T-Shirts. There is a yellow and a black one. For the hard core fans also the Fender GT-H guitar and a special Hertz-Shelby GT-H jacket but up to now I just managed to see a picture of them but never got the chance to buy one.

Anyone interested in purchasing copies of the Motor Trend GT-H issue can get them for a very reasonable price from the publisher's website (Primedia). I bought 3 copies for a more reasonable price than what they were going for on E-Bay.

I am. PM me.

OK I don't know if this qualifies as a must have GT-H item, but how about a 2007 Shelby Christmas Card. Got this card at a small mom and pop pizza shop just up the street from Shelby's in LV the the week before Christmas during a visit to rent a GT-H vert. Card was taped to a display case by the cash register. I asked the lady that worked there if it was for sale. Was told "No" but I had this tragic image of it going in the garbage can after the New Year. Offered her $10, she still said "No." She must have been in the Christmas spirit because while we were eating our pizza she gave us the card. Or maybe she noticed our rented GT-H vert parked just outside the window. Either way, I did give her the $10.

  • 2 weeks later...

I just received my copy of issue 45 of Octane magazine. That is a cool article and a must have. Nice article from the UK when a couple of the photogs came to California for the Monterey Week and rented a GT-H. Also a great article on Shelby's twin supercharged CSX3015 Cobra that sold at Barrett last year.

I find it odd that the 1:18 scale die cast comes in different boxes with different car positions. Why would they build it in different boxes?

There's the one that comes in the Silver Shelby Collectible box. This is a bigger box with the car positioned at an angle, hence the bigger box. Then there is the one with the car positioned square and the box is black with gold stripes. I don't know, so I got both. Same builder in China and the car is the same car.

Primedia's website is COMPLETELY Sold out on the September 2006 Motor Trend Back issue, and WILL NOT have anymore ever--I just emailed them and that is the response I got. So I guess Ebay is the only place we can find these now...

Do you mean this poster that sold for $331.66!! That certainly was not me. That is the craziest one I've seen yet.

Crazy Poster Price.

That was a good marketing job. Seller stated that he hasn't seen any other of those. I guess he didn't look very hard did he???

Jeff, that is a cool poster and I have not seen one anywhere eles......albeit, the ebay price was pretty crazy! If you know, where can we get one or is anyone reproducing them?

What was the deal with under 300 serial number?? You can buy the original GT Hood signed if your number is under 300?? Anyone have info about this??

James

James, I was on the wiating list for a signed hood. Still do not have it as they are waiting for Carroll to visit again to sign more. Some of the original hoods were signed and given to Ford and Hertz execs. A few were raffled off...in fact I just bought one that was raffled and won by an employee, I laso bought his GT-H employee jacket. When I talked to the guys at Shelby Performance about the hoods, he could not gaurentee that is was off my actual car or that I could pick my number ( I have car #298 ).

Thanks for the info.Do you know what the cost was to buy??

James

I bought mine when I was in Vegas last year. They were offered at the Shelby HQ in their Shop. The price was around $500-550 but the transportation to Europe was more expensive!

But it´s great to have it in my garage next to my Shelbys.

The cost is $699. I was at Shelby HQ today and took the tour ...AWESOME!!!

I asked about the hoods and they said that they still do not have any signed hoods and not sure when Carroll will be around the factory long enough to sign more hoods since he is so busy these days. So I bought one from a former employee and picked it up today along with an orginal 66/06 Hertz Shelby employees jacket!! :happy feet:

He won the hood in a company raffle (verified by a few folks at Shelby HQ), it is signed by Carroll in big letters ..I will take pics and post this week-end...so stoked! I am told by folks at Shelby HQ that there were only about 40 custom jackets made.
