South Florida Has Another

93cobra

Recommended Posts

Picked the beauty up last night from the dealer with 16.1 miles on the odometer. Had only a chance to take a couple of quick snaps at the dealer (see below).

Couple of initial thoughts:

Love the Red-White-Blue instrument panel colors

The clutch is a lot nicer than the one in my 93 Cobra

The gear shift pattern is tight and shorter than my 93.

Already an eye catcher ... was followed home from the dealership by a member of law enforcement.

Ohhhhh baby! Thanks for the pics! I was holding out for an '08, but alas I opted for an '07 just like yours. Love that color/stripe combo! Should be in anytime now.

Congrats and great color combo & pictures.

You should have gotten the plate number of your escort in case your car turns up missing!

Are you keeping your 93?

LB

Yes ... my 93 is (or will be) my daily driver. When I get a chance ... I'll put them side-by-side and take some pics.

As to missing ... goes in tomorrow for Lojack.

Got it at Wayne Akers huh? I bought mine there as well. The ETA on mine was today, but it didn't make it. Should be here soon though. I went with Ebony and Tungsten stripes (solid black interior).

I also have Wayne Akers doing some aftermarket stuff for me. They are installing the Magnapack (Magnaflow) cat-back exhaust system. We are still looking for wheels, but there are few out there (with the right offset) since the car is so new. I may go with the 18-inch Steeda ultralites in chrome. They are look nice, though they are a bit plain, and they weigh less.

What do you think about the wheels?

The wheels are okay ... I actually prefer the wheels on the 93 cobra ... love the fan look ... but I didn't buy the car for the wheels :shift:

I'll check on your car tomorrow when I go in for the Lojack install. The owner has his White w/ Blue in the showroom ... and they had a convertible that I didn't see (supposedly a demo car).

Congratulations on the new ride. I saw it sitting on the showroom floor last week. BTW- if you don't know him already, you definitely need to meet Frank in the parts department. Great guy and very knowledgeable. He is the president of the Palm Beach Mustang Club as well. Wayne Akers is also the only Ford Racing parts dealership in South Florida. See you around town!

So there are 3 of us now. My Shelby should be in any day at Wayne Akers. I did meet Frank. He says they meet weekly at a burger place and is trying to get me to join up once my car arrives. We should all meet one Sunday for a Shelby cruise, especially since we all have different colors.

They meet monthly at Limburger's on Okeechobee Rd. A Sunday cruise sounds good to me.

What does the Lojack cost?

How is it installed/, Is the any drilling involved?

To be honest I haven't searched the car to see where they installed the transmitter. Will do that this weekend. There are several types of Lojack you can get starting at 6 something ... I went for the early warning option that informs me if the car is moved. It will inform up to 5 different notification points (email, text message, phone, beeper, etc.) Costs roughly 1K.

Some people may think it's a bit much ... but I'll never forget the first weekend I had my 93 Cobra ... someone ripped off my alarm horn (you could reach it up from the bottom of the engine compartment and they broke my door handles trying to get into the car. I subsequently moved the alarm horn to the firewall just under the hood at the top of the engine so you couldn't reach it.

AWESOM car CONGRADULATIONS.

I couldnt help but notice that the over the top stripes are missing on the rear deck lid. Did the Dealer have to order you some more stripes and did they put them on yet?

WOW... yeah i just noticed it after you mentioned it...

The Deck Lid Stripes are missing... wonder if the strips

are on the back bumper too? I saw one on here a couple

weeks ago that they left off the strips on the back bumper..

Hmmmmmm

OMG!! How in the :censored: could this make it through the multiple check points that are supposedly in place for this (and hopefully all Fords) car. I don't know if I'd laugh or cry if this were my car.

Sorry to be a downer but if they miss a stripe in such a conspicious place what else could they miss??

Cry ... but faced with issue ... do you take the car or reject it?

I took it ... and to be honest ... the only people that see the missing stripes are those behind me ... which on the other hand is everyone right now :)

Hell ya you take it.. and just get them to fix it.. It is sad that the Dealer didnt notice it and get it fixed before you took delievery of it.

And your right Everyone is seeing them... glad to hear they are fixing it for you really soon.

So How Many Times did they Apologize for the mistake?

Best Reguards and Congrats on the Car... Im still hoping for one eventually, at MSRP.. in the same colors...

Love the Car, thanks for sharing the pics

The dealer didn't have a chance to get it fixed before I saw it ... they were keeping me updated on a daily basis as soon as the vehicle was put on the rail car. So as soon as they said they physically had the car (even before they had taken off the shipping tape), I told them I wanted it.

It's a sweet machine ... and the tape is an annoyance ... but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for another couple of days.

I kept going back and forth on whether I wanted white with blue or blue with white ... either combo is gorgeous.

Now ... if I could just get my personalized plates in (MYGT500) ... I'll be a happy man.
