RUFDRAFT
Okay. Let's see how much interest we have for a 3 day weekend meet. Fontana Village Resort in TN is a very popular venue for car club meets/shows. They're close to The Tail of the Dragon - an 11 mile stretch of two-lane that has about 311 turns! The resort hosts Mini-Coopers - Nissan Z's - bikers - and many other genres of clubs. Check out the site: http://www.fontanavillage.com/ How about we try for a May 2007 Mustang meet? May 27-8-9th? All Mustangs would be welcome. Perhaps the 1st Annual Mustang Round-Up? If there's enough interest, I'll contact the resort and get a dialog moving. It's a great place for the whole family. And the Tail will provide plenty of fellowship conversation! By May of next year, we should have a lot of Shelby/Mustang GT owners eager to show off their rides. If we have enough interest, we can hold a Mustang show. Let's ride, y'all.

68fastback
Maybe Robert will pin this thread so we can continue to see how many are interested? Send Kaylan (Paul) a PM and he'll likely do it for you -- he put the survey on sticky for me. If I have a car by then -- if not, maybe with my friend ...in an '01 Cobra! I know where my old 68 fastback is hiding in Astoria, NY -- maybe I'll steal it back -- that would be a kick too!
KCMO-GT500
definitely will be there...if no shelby by then, I will rent or buy a mustang of some sort. and if you're not careful, I will bring "ceiling cat" with me.....
RUFDRAFT
See? It's bad enough that someone actually had the idea to take that picture - what's REALLY wrong is someone thought up the message! Masterbation is like Viagra. No one uses the pills - but they say 40% of men are. I've never - ever - had a guy admit to spankin' the monkey!

ColdwaterHotrod
No can do! That's the weekend for the INDY 500 & I have never miss that race weekend since I have been going their. Pick another date & town.
RUFDRAFT
Let me add something to this mix. Should we keep this simple and just gather or should we put together some sort of show? I'd need some help if y'all want to have categories and trophies, etc. I'm voting for a casual meet - with a "show" on the lawns - and a group photo at the Dam. They have a good-sized dining hall where we might have a Sat night dinner - and ask for some Mustang "stories" from those who come. (ADM's - et's - kills - etc) Their rates are reasonable - check their site. They have cabins and regular rooms - gas on site - and some spectacular scenery. I was looking at their schedule and that weekend seems open. If you'd like to suggest another venue - feel free! I know this isn't a road course - but the resort in all-inclusive. And you won't find a more challenging 11 miles.

Oh well. don't laugh, we get a lot of large hail in kc, and I have already had two cars badly damaged in the past. I am looking into a car cover of some type, as well as a large roll of dense foam that I can put under the car cover if I am caught out in bad weather. Actually, someone told me there are some car covers out there that come with built-in padding just for hail. I haven't been able to find one yet. The last thing I need is to get caught in a hail storm when I'm out for a Sunday afternoon cruise. That would make me angry.
KCMO-GT500
post up if you ever come across that cover. if not already in production, maybe we could turn a buck or two and produce it ourselves. only ones charged an adm would be dealers..... RUFDRAFT
I'm not saying we need to meet in TN - I just looked at the map we have of members - and it seemed like a fairly central location - with most of us east of the Mississippi. It doesn't matter to me where we meet - I'd just like to see us get together and have some fun. :happy feet: And - I'd like to win some money playing poker.... Wasn't Robert working on something in the context of an SVToA event including us Shelby folk? Maybe I'm imagining that. (Did you see that a GT-H was auctioned by Hertz thru Barrett-Jackson the other day. They thought it might go as high as $100K -- it went for $250K even! Is that sick or what?!) .
