MattInDetroit
Mine in is in the shop right now. Yes, this is VERY different than the old scoop. The inside support stuff is gone replaced by the insert. Looking forward to putting that to bed once and for all!

SGT0701
Looks good, I am still nervous to trust my dealer to do the job. I need to do something though, mine is starting to look like a toe nail that has not been cut in 2 years. Here are your photos from the gallery:
Webba
Wow great pic of the new scoop. I have been wondering what it looked like as it had been referred to as having a insert. This looks like it does the trick very nicely. Kudos SAI!
SGT3369
Bolts have been eliminated completely?
autoplay
Looks like a better solution, and guessin here,a perm solution. Did you do the grinding/fab work on the 2 sides,or did you receive it like that? The old/original scoop, the bolt receiver housing,my opinion,is too deep, which makes the outside naturally, want to flare up. I only saw it once, and it was at the Ford body shop. I woulda loved to have taken a steel rule to it,to confirm my beliefs. Hmmm, thinkin here,if I'm able to be at the shop when the new 1 is installed,I'll check out the underside of the old. Not that it matters,SAI is resolving it. Just for curiosity sake.

SGT
How is this any different?
MattInDetroit
How is this any different? The design, form factor, is different. The insert is new, and the scoop is actually riveted unlike the old one which is not. The old scoop had fake rivets.
AFBLUE
I've been watching my hood scoop like a hawk, looking for the slightest sign of warping/lifting. Nothing so far, but it hasn't been hot here. It looks perfect to me.
ngnear_merged
AFBLUE: I am not so sure that we will see any problems with our 08's. I expect that they had already corrected the problem on our cars. With that said, I will still keep an eye on my hood scoop thru the next year when (and if) it ever warms up again. (Darn Nebraska winters). Enjoy your nice weather while you can. I've been watching my hood scoop like a hawk, looking for the slightest sign of warping/lifting. Mine is still in the shop. It also needed to have the two hood stripes replaced and the shifter rattle looked at. No rush since I can't drive it anyway. I hate winter....
