Hi Guys! For those of us that like our stock wheels but wan't to upgrade the brakes here's an idea I may go with over the winter. There are alot of variations & choices out there. Here's one I thought I'd throw at ya.

Here is another option that is out there. I have these and I know pottydr does as well. While I may be in the minority, I am not a big eBay fan. Regardless, this company, iRotors,Inc., has the same price as the eBay item. Here is the link: http://www.irotors.com/storefrontprofiles/...052&i=233278093 I agree with WI-GT/SC, we who decline the 20" wheel route need to do something about the stock brakes. WI-GT/SC, would love to see photos after you finish the install. Jim

Thats the most reasonably priced set I've seen and appear to be a quality product.

I've always thought that a set of hawk pads and braided lines could dramatically transform the stock brakes. I'm tempted by the big brakes but 3k is tough to choke down lol

It is a very good way to upgrade. On my 04 Cobra I purchased a set of Brembo slotted and drilled front and rear rotors, stainless lines and Hawk Steet Performance pads and it made a trememdous difference. Was well worth the $475 I spent.

Also in that same thread, someone posted that the exact same rotors could be had much cheaper from this source.

My experience with brake upgrades has proven to me that slotted rotors work very well to improve overall braking power, while cross-drilled rotors are simply "sexy" and nothing more. Stainless steel and braided brake lines front and rear are very effective improvments as well.

Stock SGT front calipers are two pot PBRs, not much different than the BearClaw kit, other than being polished and branded "Shelby". The Shelby/Baer rear kit is an improvement though, by stepping up to 14" matching rear rotors. Might be worth the investment, but not if I have to buy new wheels.

I know for a fact that the OEM '03-'04 Marauder wheels work with the branded BaerClaw kits offered by Shelby, but the loss of .5" wheel width will also change tire/road dynamics. The stock/OEM tire size will act differently on the 18X8.0 Marauder wheel, than it does on the 18.5" wide SGT wheel.

Hawk pads? Oiustanding.
