Ok, I'm signed up buuuut,

Since you don't take yahoo accounts I used my work email. Now it requires validation but my work blocks that site. I may be SOL.... :(

You can get AOL mail free now I think Stump-you could always set it up that way.

We use to get alot of jokers posting porn and causing trouble with those types of accounts. You need an account with a traceable IP address. This weeds out most of the trouble makers, and allows us to block them if we must.

Just what I need, another forum to post in. <_<

It will be the premium forum for all Shelby owners.

I am a member there Grabber, great site with great members. It seems very scued to the GT500 owners. Not much activity on the GT side. We need to work on that.

That's going to change when you all come over. ;)

This was posted today on our site as stated in the link on the Post #1 in this thread:

Team Shelby

We are happy to announce that the S197ShelbyOA and Shelby Automobiles have formed a partnership. This new partnerships has spawned the creation of "Team Shelby," which is the official club of Shelby Automobiles.

Why the change?

Carroll Shelby and Amy Boylan approached us with the idea of turning the S197ShelbyOA into a nationwide group with major activities and perks. And they wanted the group to provide feedback for potential new programs and more. Thus, the S197ShelbyOA developed into Team Shelby.

We will provide more information on how this change benefits everyone, however, here's some upcoming events that we are planning to get you excited:

* A Shelby GT500KR 40th Anniversary Reunion.

* Save the date: 11 January 2007 for a chance to attend Carroll Shelby's birthday party.

We'll have more details about the club in a press release soon.

I second Rossgt comment about the site formerly known as stangsunleashed is very GT500 leaning. As I posted in another thread I haven't been impressed with the S197OA of which I am a member. I still haven't received or even heard of the Shelby GT shirts that were promissed. I monitor that site as often as I monitor this one.

Also, I am concerned about an "official" S197 Shelby club. I thought that was what SAAC was for. Is Shelby now removing us from SAAC? I hope the press release an info will become clearer because right now I am more suspect then impressed.

Lastly, although at times I post identical passages in both forums. This is a more lively forum for Shelby GTs and we get better response from SAI here. I hope we don't lose this forum.

Why have all these forums? What's wrong with this one? I've always prefered this forum over StangsUnleashed. SAAC isn't an official Shelby club? Why doesn't "Team Shelby" team with SAAC? Or do they? Questions, questions.....

And I second socaljafo's comment. There seems to be a lot more GT500 owners posting in the Shelby GT threads than Shelby GT owners. I really like how active this forum is. And though I'm not a member yet, ilmor brings up a great question about SAAC.

Until I see a huge shift and things improve for Shelby GT enthusiasts, I think I'm happy right here - just my $0.02.

Socal,

I'm with you

I'm a member of the S197SOA and have not received my shirt yet either and the site does seem to lean to the GT500's. I monitor this forum more than SU, seemd to be more activity.

+1 on keeping this forum

I will echo what has been said so far. The site and the club is VERY GT500 focused. Having said that it doesn't have to stay that way! I would like to suggest that SN197 gather 2-3 of the core people here and make them the SGT moderators and leaders for the SGT membership. I think that would go a long way to smooth things over. I'd also suggest that you make sure, VERY VERY sure, that you have your #@*! in one sock before you announce anything always seeking to under promise and over deliver. I look forward to some regional efforts and fun interaction with our GT500 siblings....of course you know how that goes... ;)

Rob,

I was very happy when you joined our forum because alot of your post make me smile but your timing seems a lttle more then coincidental now. I appreciate what Robert and Sharon have done at stangsunleashed and for it's members but this is the Shelby GT forum and short of Shelby closing this site I don't see a huge migration to the site formerly known as stangsunleashed.

Amy & Bud,

Please don't close this forum!

When I joined this site I knew nothing of the change, I promise you that.

With in the next comming couple of weeks the forums and threads on this site will be merged into the new Team Shelby site. We will all become one. All members here will have automatic access so there will be no need to join Team Shelby. T-Shirts are in the works right now and a bunch of other cool stuff.

It will take up to a couple weeks to upgrade and convert the software of this site before the transfer can happen. There are some technical bugs to work out. I assure you that the Shelby GT and GTH forums will be safely transfered and you all will have access to them.

...still waiting on the SAAC explanation...

I have no information on this. Sorry.

Amy, remember, these are just questions, no one is accusing you or SAI of anything, I preface my post with this because I know you are prone to being offended when the wrong questions get asked.

(Must be that NY sensibility that makes us emphatic both in our opinions and defending them!)

....that was a compliment!

So is it that SAI is ditching us?

I have read posts numerous times stating that some of SAI people dont even like coming on this site, (when the discussion isnt praising them.)

has it come down to SAI cant be bothered by continuing or administering this forum so we are being passed off to what "some" may think is the best alternative?

I for one love this site and the fact that it is very SGT BIASED.

Not for nothing, the gt500 is a nice car, but I really dont want to butt heads with alot of people rehashing the whole "REAL" Shelby argument over & over again.

I know I have the first Shelby in 40 years and they have a Ford with a badge most of them want to ditch for ours anyway.

my 1.50......save up, you are 3/4 of the way to a subway token!

Wow, I must have been off that day and missed those posts

Bothered? What does that mean? Bothered by trying to clean up the boards? Bothered by all the spam that keeps popping up? Nope, not bothered at all!!!

Ok, first time ever :P that I will agree with you

My suggestion would be to NOT read those posts then. Its like TV. If you don't like what you are watching, turn the channel. Next question :D

Be proud of what you own ( I know you do), because there are alot of people who do not own a Shelby (and never will)

Hi all!!!!

Well the time has come to expand again. This my friends is a good thing. From what I have heard, all of the threads that were on this site will be on the new site too. This also means, all of the threads on that site will also be combined into the new site.

I'm sure some of you may feel slighted, left out etc, but its up to all of us to make it what we want it to be. The new site can be and will be bigger and better for all of us. Yes, there will be a few people that we do not know and the same goes for those on the SU site. It will all work out. I feel this will also be great in a way that everybody will make new friends, share ideas, and share stories about their cars and so forth.

So, all in all, I guess what I am tring to say is, lets check it out, give it a try before you condem it.

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Bud

Bud I understand where you guys are coming from and it is your site so it is totally your decision making, but saying lets give it a try before you condem it is kind of a mute point because we dont have a choice now. It has been done. I guess some of us are just in shock. I will say I am not totally sure of what this means entirely and I have to read a little more and figure out exactly what is going on.

With a full blown merger of sites and not having to start all over again I can live with that. That is understandable especially if Shelby owns the other site as well.

I just hope the new address is able to get by the work gestapo here or I'll probably be gone since most of my posting is done during the day, not that most of y'all will be bothered by that :P .
