BlueOval
Anyone else heard this rumor? I heard it from an uncomfirmed source at a local Ford dealership. He *sounded* like he knew what he was talking about but one never knows... Oh, the title should read "... on 2009 Ford Mustang GT".
wildosvt
With the rest of the car getting new/updated sheet metal, I HIGHLY! doubt that will happen. Its being re-engineered.

I would agree, with the forthcoming redesign, I would doubt they would use the GT500 nose on updated sheet metal, IMHO.
Three Cobras
I suspect the word 'redesigned' implies a lot more than is likely to happen. I don't doubt the skin will be freshened up with some different creases and maybe side scoops. Doubt there will be much more.
LR 01 Cobra
The next Mustang will look nothing like the current car! Just a rumor  Tim
wildosvt
The next Mustang will look nothing like the current car! Just a rumor  Tim Thats not a rumor. The interior will be totally redone as well. Its a fact and not my opinion. I was told to keep this car in mind when thinking about the 09. Its not "it" but gives the idea. http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/concept/s1...2004mustang.jpg
Three Cobras
Time will tell. 'All New' has been used for so long it's lost its meaning. I still bet it'll be mostly cosmetic. That showcar / concept doesn't look too different from the 2005 and newer cars to me - just sheet metal (sheet palstic?) updates. I bet the chasis remains unchanged. I doubt we should take (the roofline, specifically) this too literally, but I believe the design elements are all there. I like it...

There is alot of talk about IRS showing up on the 09. Which is fine by me. I did NOT want it on the Shelby. Sure I enjoy the ride (04 Term) but I hate the fact I have to baby it. If the redesigned Mustang looks like that, I'm definitely buying one!!

wildthing530000
i also had read somewhere that the gt500 nose was going to the GT.
owenkelley
The new Motor Trend has an article about the new Boss Mustang and the Bullitt, in that article they claim that the next generation Mustang will look very similar to the '07 GT500 in the front. I would hope they would not do this too. It will make it that much easier for people to slap on GT500 emblems, stripes and snakes. One of the most appealing things about the GT500 is the fact that the nose sets it apart from the other Mustangs.
