Drill-less license Plate bracket Mustang CS/Shelby GT

Hi all,

I posted a reply in this thread:

http://forum.shelbyautos.com/index.php?showtopic=978

But I figured I should start a new topic, as the original topic description did not match very well to what my bracket is.

I finally got a chance to borrow the Mustang CS (Shelby GT has a CS front bumper)

I fabbed up a bracket and it clamps very well to the bumper :D :P! I plan to have some ready to ship by end of week July 13, 2007.

The price will be a little more than the Mustang GT bracket which sells for $42.50US including shipping as this one actually requires more fabrication.

The pricing information will be available week of July 13th. I'm still trying to figure out how to make the clamp easier to avoid raising the cost.

Please email me at fastrackindustries@gmail.com or PM me.

NOTE: The sample I made uses electrical tape the final production version will not. The pictures below shows a wing nut holding the bracket on. This was only used in the fabrication of the bracket. The final one will use Nylon Lock nuts just the same as my GT bracket. For anyone that's interested you can have a look at the manual for the GT one:

or

And finally here's the pictures:

Here's a shot of the bracket bottom up, as noted above the production will use a Nylon Lock Nut instead of the wing Nut:

Here's a shot of the bracket side view, as noted above the production will use a Nylon Lock Nut instead of the wing Nut:

Another side view shot, as noted above the production will use a Nylon Lock Nut instead of the wing Nut:

And finally what the bracket actually looks like, as noted above the production will use a Nylon Lock Nut instead of the wing Nut:

Wing nuts..... :( wing nuts...... :(

No,no,no.

Flip those over to where you don't see them and add lock nuts.

They make a rubber coating that needs to go on there, instead of electrical tape.

Other than that, might not be too bad. :D

Very good points :) My first edit did not go through... NOTE: The sample I made uses electrical tape the final production version will not. My brackets I've made for the GT I use Plasti-dip.

You can actually see the Plasti-dip in the last picture I posted, it's on the top half of the "clamp"

As for the wing nuts I should've mentioned that, this was a proto-type/test fit as I had to return the CS, the final one will use Nylon Lock nuts (I actually include 4), exactly like the GT bracket

As for the bolts going the other way, that has been talked about many times, but it would make it way too hard to install the bracket. Plus with the plate hanging in front of the bracket you have to work very hard to even see the bolts.

Fastrack,

Doesn't look like it will work for the lower grill insert. Many of us have them and others are likely to add. Just a thought.

Interesting, I had no idea there was a lower grill insert. I'm trying to track down pictures now with no avail. But if that's the case... There isn't much I can do.

Oh here it is!

Like I said I know you think it would be a pain to take on and off but I will only be taking it off at shows or events and would rather have it not obstructing the look of the car the rest of the time. Don't get me wrong, this is GREAT but are yo sure you've burned the midnight oil on this one?

:)
