Ross my list is not nearly as good as yours, but it would go:

1977 Caprice Classic 2dr, metallic red, white top, Cragar ss wheels, corvette trans and rear end (stock units went out after warranty and dad foun replacements at salvage yard)-this was mom and dad's hand me down

1983 Mercury Capri RS chocalate brown with gold metal flake and stripes, 5.0L automatic(hoped it would get me through college and become my toy, but no such luck thanks to an uninsured driver in a 1978 T-bird)-first used car I bought

Back to 1977 Caprice for a couple months

1985 Olds Calais-piece of crap that got me through college until I bought my first new car which happened to be my favorite of my cars (SGT still not here yet):

1992 Mustang GT Emerald green metallic over titanium light gray interior, 5.0L, 5 speed

fiancee had green 1992 T-bird v-6, loaded

Traded Mustang to get married (not enough room to haul all of her stuff from KC to Illinois)

1994 Explorer 2 Dr Eddie Bauer

1995 T-bird (wife's)-Blue, loaded gray leather interior, v-8

1997 Expedition Eddie Bauer-toreador red, gray interior

1999 Grand Prix GTP (wife's) red, black leather interior supercharged v-6

2001 Mercury Mountaineer (wife's) Black, gray leather interior-afraid she'd get mugged putting the new baby into the back of the GP, wanted something she could just sit his car seat into.

2001 Expedition Eddie Bauer Premier-arizona beige monochromatic inside and out (I needed a new one because she got 2 since my last one)

2003 Expedition Eddie Bauer-wedgewood blue/gray interior-dealer gave me a deal I couldn't refuse, his wife wanted my '01

2004 Jaguar X-type (wife's)

2006 Expedition Eddie Bauer-dark copper metallic/tan interior-traded blue one while front end being replaced, got 0% financing so new truck for less money

2007 SGT eventually-this will be my keeper-as per the moniker, a Shelby has always been my dream car. I still kick myself daily, I could have bought a 1968 GT 500 for $12,000 a few months after graduating from college, but didn't think I could have afforded it and the 92 GT and needed a daily driver so I had to pass. Oh well-I'd have never bought the SGT if I had bought the '68. I still would like a 67-70 Shelby, but the SGT allowed me to realize my dream, keep my house and stay married

Excellent question (if not a little embarrasing).

1973 Ford Pinto (sorry)

1975 Ford Mustang Cobra V-6 (thought it was cool then - also liked disco)

1978 Datsun 280-Z (nice recovery)

1980 Audi 4000 (was I growing up?)

1983 Mazda RX-7 (guess not - and was I glad)

1987 Ford Taurus (actually, a very nice car)

1991 Dodge Stealth (a little chunky - but fun)

1992 Nissan 4WD P/U (for when it snowed)

1995 Isuzu Trooper (competent - and never tipped over)

2003 Honda Pilot (sensible - if not a little boring)

2005 Honda Ridgeline (an exciting Pilot - still have it)

2007 Shelby GT (black - 5 spd - IUP) - the king of them all!

My top three? No-brainer: (1) Shelby (2) 280-Z (3) RX-7

Nice walk through memory lane - I hope more of you chime in.

Bill

Very B) Shelbydream1 and it finally happened. BTW it's really not a list being good.....just ask my wife.....she dosen't consider it good at all :) I'm on the wait and mod list so I do have some time to think about how special this is really going to be.

My addiction became reality. It's all my grandfather's fault. Rest his soul. He would take me to car lot's every Sunday morning after church. He traded every 2 years.

My list is not complete. I didn't include my wife's rides which is an interesting list in itself. :)

It is interesting to see how we have arrived at today and what we drove. The memories, good and bad etc. just a walk down memory lane.

Really hasn't been much action on the forum this week.

My 69Z28 was actually taken away by my dad for a week because I skipped school. We used to hang out at the local Burger Chef (dating myself here). On the last day of my punishment, I'm sitting on the hood of my friends car, bunch of us just hanging out. 3 of the guys had 69 Z's in the distance we hear a hot ride going through the gears and I look over at the car as it rolls to the red light in front of us and take a guess.........yup my dad in my car having a heck of a time. And he waves at us in the parking lot. It took almost 2 years to live that one down.

I still miss that car. It was my graduation present and served me proudly through my first three Freshman years. Like an idiot I traded it for the 93 F-150 since hopped up 4X4s were all the rage at the time. I tried to buy it back a few times but the owners always wanted too much money. I guess they figured I would pay more since I used to own it.

The last time I saw the car it had been painted a dark Maroon and had ground effects on it. Pretty sad looking actually.

If it makes you feel any better, the day i got my DL was the first time my dad (a state trooper for 35 years) took it away!!! He sent me on an errand for him, upon leaving the store I didn't see anyone around and promptly lit up the rear tires in a cloud of smoke and a couple nice black marks. My hometown is only 3500 people and by the time I got home, he was standing on the driveway glaring at me when I pulled in-lost my keys and DL for a week----seemed like forever at 16. i can't imagine what the wait for this SGT would have felt like then!

Alright, I can remember most, at least I think i can, or have I forgotten so I can't remember whether I'm remembering all? Maybe, I'll print a copy to give to the kids. No wifey cars.

1968 AMC Rebel - 290, auto, paid $75 for it, reverse went out, forward clunked between gears

1973 Mercury Comet - straight-6, 3 on-the-floor, bright yellow with wire-wheels

1981 Mustang - straight-6, 4-on-the-floor, chamlois, t-tops (first new car)

1985 Mustang SVO - black, leather, second new car

1994 corvette - auto, bright red (don't recall the official name for the color), great, reliable car (new car)

The cars I really loved were as follows: 1966 Gt 350 clone- This car was dealer done for the original owner, S. Walmsbey of of Mercer Island Wa. The car was done to exact specs. I sold this car for $4200 in 1982.

2) 1966 Gt K Model FB. This car was comepletey show and a trophy winner. My Dad helped me buy this car when I was 18 years old. This and the GT350 were my 2 best cars and it could go either way on which one I would rather have back, but the GT K Model would win over due to it complete original car.

3) The Shelby GT is my finest car to date. I truly believe that the SGT is the finest Mustang ever made. I got BIG kudos from a GT500 owner who had never looked at one close up until he saw mine. he was thoroughly and completely impressed with the cars speed, quickness, balance, a truly made Shelby @ SAI Las Vegas and most of all the appearance. In fact he said he was a little jealous that his car did not have the same credentials and heritage as the Shelby made SGT.
