where are the Shelbys going - what's the breakdown?

Out of 3796ish Ford dealers nationwide, what is the breakdown

How many of them are ...

SVT dealers?

Presidents Award Winners?

SVT Focus dealers?

Select dealers?

Contact dealers?

dealers who have certified (may fall into one of the above categories)?

It'd be cool to see how this roughly breaks down in relation to the 9000 or so production units that are currently planned.

It would also be interesting to know how many dealers have opted to either wait til next year to participate, or not participate at all.

Which sales region will get the most?

Also, how many out of the 9000 are planned to be shipped to Canada or elsewhere?

Facts, estimates, opinions..discuss

The 604 full-line SVT dealers get 2 each, so that accounts for 1,208 GT500's for 2007. There are about 300 SVT-Focus-Only dealers that get 1 each, so there's another 300 or so accounted for in 2007. The 343 President's Award winning dealers from 2005 get 1 each, so 343 more spoken for. And, any dealer that signed up for the 2007-8 GT500 run gets 1, but we don't know how many that is yet.

By the way, dealers who did not sign up to sell 2007 GT500's, can NOT sign up for 2008's. It was either 1) sign up for both 2007 & 2008, or 2) wait until 2009 at the earliest to try again.

Southern regions always get more Mustangs historically (i.e. California, Texas, and Florida).

I was told a week ago from our Disctrict manager, that they had a number of about 6,000 that would be commited for. For the rest of the 3,000 or so cars, they will go to share of nation and there will be a lottery in Vegas this August for dealers that attend. No word on how many to go to the lottery.

Canada is getting about 255 IIRC, only being sold through SVT dealers (12-15 cars / dealer).

Smoothy:

There are 27 S.V.T dealers in Canada. 12 to each dealer = 324 or 15 to each dealer =405 units.

The 9,000 figure is for USA only, so any going to Canada is in addition to the 9,000 I'm told.

That would be the first time they would do that. The Bullitt and Mach totals included cars to Canada

I've been told by two different Ford big wigs that there are 9,000 GT500's planned for the USA for 2007. I didn't ask about, nor did either guy elaborate on, GT500's for other countries.

SC2004arispe, I know nothing about VIP cars. However, there are so few of them, why worry about them? It's not like we're going to know a final build number with that info anyway. Planned production and actual production are seldom the same. Here's a few recent Mustang examples......

1999 Mustang GT 35th Anniversary, 6,000 planned, 4,628 built.

2000 Mustang GT Spring Feature, 6,000 planned, 3,901 built.

2001 Mustang GT Bullitt, 6,500 planned, 5,592 built.

2003 Mustang Mach 1, 6,500 planned, 9,652 built with 7,182 more added for 2004.
