Does the Shaker 50 have an audio input?

Does anyone know if you can plug an MP3 player into a Shaker 500. If so, are the jacks up front, or do you have to get to the back of the unit?

I want to have my player loaded when i pick it up. I have about a 3 hour drive to get it (whenever that is).

Thanks

The literature says both shaker stereos have MP3 cabability. It also says "auxiliary audio input jack", but I don't know where the jacks would be. This info can be found in the "key features" guide elsewhere on this site. There is a "drawing" of the face of each radio, and I can't see any jacks....but since they are only drawings I'm not putting a lot of faith that they are totall accurate.

From what I can see its on the back of the head unit. there are some folks that make a unit to directly connect to the head unit to supply a input for a ipod.

Heres a link to one of the sites thats selling a unit.

Also appears theres FM transmitter setups as well.

Also found a diagram for a the shaker head unit in this thread might lead you to other options.

I'm not sure, but I think the MP3 capability refers to MP3 formatted CDs (the ones you can burn of your favorite tunes from your computer; retail-purchased CDs are NOT MP3 format).

Ask someone on the AAI forum to look at the head unit. IF there's an input jack on the front, you're good to go. If not, you options suck. The FM transmitter types are horrible. You're taking all that bandwidth used in thesong and squeezing it down to the FM bandwidth used for transmitting. I've heard tons of these and they all suck.

IF it's absolutely imperative that you can plug an iPod in, take your car to a high end stereo shop and have them install the jumper on the rear harness. You DON'T want to try this at home. Figure on 300-400 bucks to have it done.
