:finger: My best time was 41.668, I'll get you next year but this time I will have more power, no passengers and have my wife driving :banvictory: Did you tell them how well Shannon did, I think she did awesome handling that beast! It was great to hang out with both of you, I'm already looking forward to next year! :beerchug:

We had a great time as well except for the ride home, we witness a motorcycle accident, he was following too close and hit the car in front of him when traffic slowed from 65 to about 50 almost recovered then high sided a Harley(the big one with hard bags). We stopped and helped, at first he was complaining about his back but the time the ambulance showed it was his shoulder and I could see his wrist was broken. Thank God nobody hit him with a car or it would have been alot worse. Definetly freeked my wife out and said "I'm glad you don't ride motorcycles anymore" I tried to argue the point and as most of you know it's a lost cause so I agreed and carried on.

Yes, Shannon did very well, especially considering the circumstances. She has had virtually no seat time since I upgraded from the Evo Stage 1 to the Evo Stage 4 (100 rwhp gain), and she still ran a 43.9 in the autocross. Very impressive. She proves that chicks CAN drive.

Sounds like that Harley rider was very lucky. Things could have been much worse.

I had a great time and I can't wait to run autocross again. I know I can go faster. :shift:

I'm glad you all had a good time! I'm sorry that I didn't meet all of you from here, but I did get a chance to meet many. The late model Shelby class was huge. They'll have to break that up a bit next year. Dang that clone! :finger: I would have got a trophy if that car was not in there. Mine was next in line. Oh well. There's always next year. Hard to compete with a rental car with 24K miles on it against some of these new beauties! This was my 17th Round-up. I missed the first one, one for my wedding, and one other in there somewhere. Nice pics. Some great pictures from the drive on Thursday!

Here's a video of my wife on the Autocross course. It was her first time ever racing, and she had virtually no seat time in the Shelby with the new Evo Stage 4. Considering that, I think she did incredibly well. Unfortunately, the video of her fastest run didn't record properly. This is her 2nd fastest (45 sec).

Not sure how a clone sneaked into the Shelby class ( and won an award). A lot of people weren't too happy about that, but what are you going to do.

Just for the record it's not a clone...the factory has not nor will they build a GT-350 on the S-197 platform. I built that car and designed it to look the way I imagined a GT-350 would had Ford and Shelby decided to create the car. So a clone it's not, as I didn't build the car to look like anything that is being offered by the factory.

As for how it ended in the category...that's where I was told to enter it. Here's a bit of background for you. When I first showed the car in 2006 I entered it in modified 2005-2006 and while it won an award I was told it was in the wrong class. So last year I entered it in the 2005-2007 coupe class and again I won an award but was told it was in the wrong class. So this year when i registered I asked them where I should be and was told the 2006-current Shelby class as that class was intended to include both real Shelby's as well as creations like my own.

Despite the flack I took from several Shelby owners who were less then pleased to have my car in 'their' class I did enjoy the show and will continue to bring my car back every year.

Not trying to flame anyone, but just want to set the record straight.

Although I appreciate your intent and your need to set the record straight, I question your methods. It seems at the RMMR you went to great efforts to convince the general public that your car was indeed an authentic Shelby. From the CS branded 40th anniversary VIN plaque (reserved only for 2007 40th anniversary Shelby's converted at Shelby Autos) to the framed certificate displayed in the engine bay that seemed to imply that your car or frame was either built or certified by Shelby Autos (that was just confusing to me). To people not intimately familiar with the S197 platform and the authentic Shelbys built, it would be nearly impossible to think it was not authentic. Even the judges thought it was a real Shelby until they were corrected by several of your show neighbors. As far as the classification goes, I saw at least a 1/2 dozen other S197 Shelby clones / GT350s, and they were all in the modified mustang class, except for yours.

Again, I appreciate your intent, and I think it's a very sharp looking mustang, but you're kidding yourself if you think anyone else believes it's just a "tribute".
