What were the initial color offerings for the '67 GT 500? I am aware of the white/blue and I believe they offered a red/white but were there any others? Thanks Guys!!

lime green (most common color and the most painted over)

Brittany blue (lt blue)

Nightmist blue (dk blue)

White

Dk Green (forest?)

Red (the least popular-there are more red cars now than in 67- Former lime cars?)

Black

Acapulco Blue (med blue)

I have also heard of a few cars possibly being painted Charcoal grey.

All stripes were added at the dealerships.

Often referred to as "slime green".

It is ranked right up there with the ever popular avacado green appliances.

White or blue stripes were your only choice's as far as I know.

My 67 GT350 (#2625) was lime green with white stripes.

Getting a different color car was a big part of selling it.

Went with white with blue stripes. Much easier on the eyes.

Later....

This may help you,

The 1967 Shelby Color Chart

The 1967 Shelby Mustang had the color of the exterior in the VIN number assigned to it at Shelby American. Seven numbers from the left was a numeral that indicated the color code. Just right of this numeral was a letter indicating the interior color. However, the first 89 cars did not have a color code indicated.

Color

Number Mustang Color Code Color Name DuPont

Number Ditzler

Number R-M

Number

1 V Bronze Metallic 4793 22749

2 K Dark Blue 4780 13076 A-1780

3 A Raven Black 88 9000

4 M Wimbledon White 4480 8378 A-1633

5 Y Dark Moss Green 4788 43567 A-1879

6 4** Metallic Gray 4733 32520

7 I Lime Gold 4790 43576 A-1882

8 Q Brittany Blue 4813 13619 A-1643

9 T Candyapple Red 4737 71528 A-1782R

0 D Acapulco Blue 4857 13357 A-1935

The interior options were A for black vinyl and U for the White or Parchment vinyl. Either interior color was available with any exterior color. For the September production only the first five colors were scheduled. Starting with car 0099 Red, Gray and Lime Gold were offered. Car 0288 was the beginning of Brittany Blue. Acapulco Blue was not offered until the final third of the production.

The R-M number was the brand of paint used on the Mustangs destined to be Shelby Mustangs at the San Jose Ford plant. Later model Shelby Mustangs were painted with Ditzler paints. The R-M stands for Rinished-Mason paints.

**Metallic Gray was not a Mustang color, it was Gray # 1900, a 1967 Thunderbird color. This is the only color that was unique to Shelby Mustangs. "Special Dark Metallic Gray" was also called Dark Gray Metallic and Medium Gray Metallic.

more of the same,

1967 Shelby Color Chart

Unlike any Mustang, the 1967 Shelby had its original exterior color noted in the Shelby American-assigned VIN. A numeral located seven positions from the left provided the color code. The letter to the right of the color code numeral indicated the color of the Deluxe interior: A indicated black and U indicated either Parchment or white. The first eighty-nine cars produced did not have the interior code in their VINs.

The first five colors were the only ones scheduled for September build by Report II of the 1967 Prototype Program. Red, gray, and Lime Gold began appearing after car 0099; Brittany Blue started appearing with car 0288; and Acapulco Blue was not a scheduled color until the final third of production.

Color Number Color Name 1967 Mustang Color Code Dupont Number Ditzler Number R-M* Number

1 Bronze Metallic V 4793 22749

2 Dark Blue K 4780 13076 A-1780

9 Candyapple Red T 4737 71528 A-1782R

0 Acapulco Blue D 4857 13357 A-1935

*R-M stands for Rinished-Mason, the brand of paint generally used on Shelbys made in the San Jose plant. Generally, later-model Shelbys were painted with Ditzler.

**Metallic Gray, termed "Special Dark Metallic Gray #1900 (1967 Thunderbird Only)" in the 1967 GT-350 Prototype Program Report II, also has been called Medium Gray Metallic and Dark Gray Metallic. It was the only 1967 Shelby color that was not a Mustang color for that model year.

What about bronze metallic (burnt amber)? I believe that 22 cars were painted this color.
