Canadian Deliveries

I've heard two scenarios concerning the delivery of the Canadian Shelbys. The first is from my dealer which is one per month beginning in July. Since they are receiving 15 cars this would mean the last '07 would be deliverd in Sept'07. This is two months into the '08 model year. This doesn't quite make sense to me. The other story I heard (which I prefer) is that the Canadian dealers will receive 5 per month beginning in July. Has anyone heard these scenario's or have you heard something different.

I would expect the deliveries in Canada to be the same as in the U.S.

One per month to begin, and 2 or 3 per month late in the run once others get their orders filled. I would expect all 2007 Shelby's to be built no later than July of 2007 UNLESS the production run is increased.

Canadian SVT Dealers (currently 27) will each get 15 cars. Previous sales levels and SVT participation has nothing to do with current allotment. If you dealer tells you this, it is false information and he may be trying to put pressure on you.

Deliveries are expected to come at the rate of 1 per month. Yes this means 15 months, but there will be some months with 2 and may even be one month with 3 cars coming. This way, the run will be done by next June to get ready to ramp up for the 2008 model run.

There is speculation that production will increase from 7,500 to 9,000 units. Even if it does, Canada will not expect to see more than an additional 54 cars, which means only 2 more per dealer max.

This is pretty much what my dealer told me. 1 car per month with 3 months 2 cars get delivered. All starting in July

Something about the numbers doesn't make sense- not all SVT dealers can be getting 15 cars, if Canada's allotment is 255 units with 27 SVT dealers, thats a little under 10 cars/dealer. Last time I talked to him, my dealer told me he was allotted 12 which would work out to 1/month. For the numbers to work out, there's a dealer somewhere that is getting only 8 cars to offset the 2 'extra' my dealer has coming.

Also have this London Free press/mustang muscle " Ford says about 400 Shelby GT500s have been allocated to the Canadian market, with each of its 27 SVT dealers, including Oakridge Ford in London and Eastway Ford in St. Thomas, receiving about 15 cars. Production is starting now and shipments are expected to begin arriving by mid-summer. " Not sure about the discrepancy. Is that 400 a year(more than noted in the dealer call) or 400 total(way less than we were told)

I really, really hope this 1 a month thing is wrong, because if it's not, I'm #11 on my dealers list and my chances of driving this car before the snow flies (if not this year) are pretty slim! :censored:

Chatted with the Realer rep here in St John's NL...Avalon Ford - SVT dealer last weekend.Allocation is 15 Shelbys which by the way is the total allocation for Newfoundland.

No orders placed yet; no pricing either.

General feeling that first car will not come til mid summer and the snow will be falling before the last one arrives.

Talked to Ontario Regional Manager at Ford Canada Who Told me he had a conference call with all his S.V.T dealers & told them they will get 1 a month but to go ahead &place orders for 3 at at time & to prioritize the order. I do not know if this will make a difference. I talked with my dealer & he has already submitted extra orders HERE`S HOPING.

I work at Donway and am the SVT Specialist there. The information from that Conference Call thread is slightly flawed as a previous post also pointed out, with only 255 units. Each SVT Dealer is supposed to get 15 cars. I have 49 on my list. However, my number 19 is very happy as I've had 4 drop out of the first 15 for either personal or business complications and he is now #15, so is getting an 07. You'd think he won the lottery he's so happy. And I can't blame him either. I envy everyone who will be getting one.

Curious, will Newfoundland be able to swallow all those Shelby's? How many are on the Waiting List at Avalon Ford? Me thinks alot of those Shelby's will end up in Edmonton/Fort McMurray! :finger:

All 15 will end up there - 75% of Ft. Mac's. Population is from Newfoundland, Is there anybody left in Newfoundland ?

The 15 allocated to Avalon Ford in St John's have orders on them all.The Dealership has been getting calls from dealers in other provinces and stateside to swap some of the Shelbys for other Ford models...NOPE was the answer!

Alley Oop . Any pricing information released by Avalon yet? MSRP available for some time now. The other Atlantic Canada dealer has already placed orders.

Please post any information available.

To prevent a back and forth, this is an edit from a local post. If you would like to see the whole thread, PM me and I'll send it. For what its worth, I have personal knowledge of two deals that have blown up into local bidding wars, and even the salespeople(and dealer principles) are stunned by the newbies( non SVT, Mustang or even Ford ) buyers that have just showed up waving cashier's check in the sales peoples faces.

"dads boss went and bought an 07 convertable and paid near $100,000 for it

i dont think he has learned of the internet and seen that they sell for 40,000 in the states

and then drives down the street and puts foose wheels on the damn thing"

The spelling is not mine but...

" think the MSRP for the coupe was $53K. Dealers were selling them for $58 and up for those who paid deposits. Sucks being the guy who had a deposit on one and the dealer told him he had to pay $100K if he wanted it."

The interesting part is going to be seeing what these sort of people add, if anything, to the hobby and the community of 'Stangers. If I were a betting man, I know where I'd place my bet... :fan:
