Today I did some preliminary layout in my field for the 23 cars that are going to be parked there. I allowed 20 feet for each car. We are going to have plenty of room. Next Sat. I am meeting with a member of the band here at my house to go over things.

Grab - why is this thread a sticky and our OBX thread was/is not?

 

While I'm at it - why did you downgrade Ruf's Garage from a sticky? It's the longest thread on this forum.

This thread is a sticky because I made it one. I have no involvement in the OBX thread or a downgrade to your garage. If ORF would of requested that his thread be made a stcky, it could of been done.

Last years event was very fun. This years event will be even better. Good friends, new friends, fast cars, good food, good music and hopefully good weather. :)

 

Mark your calendars for Sat. May 24th and let me know if you are interested in attending. The event will be held at my place again. I have an acre and plenty of room to park the cars in the field where we will be having the party.

 

The location is 5 miles east of I-5 @ the 179th Street exit (Clark Co.fairgrounds exit) in Battleground, WA. The zip code is 98604 if you want to mapquest the location. I know this is 6 months away, but I want to start planning early.

 

I want to start putting together a list of interested people that I will keep updated on thiis thread.

This years Itinerary:

 

LIVE MUSIC

10am: The band arrives and sets up drums and sound system.

11am - 2pm: Live music plays for 3 hours

THE EVENT

10am: People start arriving and parking there cars in the 1/2 acre field where the event is going to be held. If you want to come earlier and wash your car at my house, or have a cup of coffee you can. I will be out and about, so feel free to come at 9am if you want. I have wash stuff here you can use.

 

11am - 12pm: Arrange cars in the field for a photo shoot. Show off our rides and get to know each other.

 

12pm - 2pm: Barb-B-Q on the grill and eat lunch with friends and visit and enjoy the live music.

 

2:30pm - 3:30pm: The cruise to Crown point on the columbia river Gorge (35 miles to the vista house from my place).

3:30-4pm: enjoy the view and take some photo's at the Vista house.

 

4pm 4:15pm: Cruise down the street 7 miles to Multnohma Falls.

4:15pm- 4:45pm: Take some photos of the falls and visit.

 

4:45pm: Depart the Falls and head back home. Those that want to go out to dinner some where with us are welcome to come. The dinner place has not been confirmed.

I know your car will be dirty from the trip. If you need to clean it at my house, I have all the stuff you will need. Come early Sat morning or Friday evening.

 

Yes, she'll be very dirty. I definitely will take you up on the offer. Thanks, Rob. Then again, she'll be so fast, I might be able to out run the dirt!

The band that will be playing at our event stopped over today to check out the lay out of the land. The gig is set. :happy feet:

Getting closer and closer to show time. Just hope my car is back together in time! Otherwise, we'll bring my wife's "Mustang." 4.6L V8, automatic, 3.73 gears, etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh, did I mention that it's a Mercury Mountaineer AWD? Maybe we could put some Mustang emblems on it and pretend? Or better yet, hopefully my car is up and running by then!

hoprfully i can make it to your shindig, only ten miles, but work and maybe have to go to pocatello that weekend. sounds like a kick. i'll ride my ultra, if thats allowed!!!!! ha

 

If you attend...you have to bring your GO. You need attend so I can reserve a front and center spot for the 2 GO's. :)

Were you feeling a little intimidated by the thought of all those blown GT 500s you were going to have to run with on the 24th?

 

I've got the entire back seat interior torn out of my car right now. I had a shop set up to do the Silverhorse Racing quarter window louvers for me today. I dropped the car off, walked 2 miles to work, and got a call an hour later telling me that they couldn't do the job and to come get my car. I've found another shop that says they can do the work the way I want it, should have that scheduled next week...

Today Tana & I did a shake down cruise up to the falls to make sure our senic route that we have planned is going to go smooth. It's going to be a great ride down Marine drive following the Columbia River all the way. 50 minute drive to Crown point. Then we will go to the falls which is 10 minutes away.

 

When we got to the falls, we took a hike while we were there. Here is the thread.

Hey, Lance. Looks like both of us went from N/A to blower since Grabber's last meet & greet. I've definitely wanted a blown Mustang for many years, and the moon/stars/sun finally lined up. The Vortech install is complete - just waiting for the 21st to hit the dragstrip and then off to Grabber's place on the 24th. Can't wait to see you all again.

 

Sucks that your first shop couldn't install the SHR windows! I've really been eyeing those as they are the finest looking side louvers I've ever seen for the S197's. I look forward to seeing them on your car at Grabber's place.
