She didn't care what she drove as long as it got her from A to B. I'm the complete opposite as in "don't touch my car I hate fingerprints! Then I bought a 96 Cobra. Then an 03 Cobra. Now the Shelby, each better than the last. Now she can talk the talk and understands my fanatic behavior. When we're on the road crusing and I finally open it up she says what took you so long? Funny story, we were on a cruise with a buch of other mustangs, when we all gathered in a parking lot to check out each others cars. A group of young punks came up to the car and one of them said "that's probably a fake shelby" (because I don't have stripes). Before I could say anything my wife turns around and totaly rips the guy a new one and informs him that it is not a fake, telling him "when was the last time you saw a 5.4L supercharged engine in a GT", the guy asks her "how much hospower does it have", she says "500", the guy says "what kind of mods does it have", my wife says "it has Ford racing exhaust, aftermarket wheels and tires, and a Ford racing differential cover". The guys just look over the car one more time, then just walked away. I was just standing there with my mouth open in shock. I love my wife she is such a gear head now, lol. As many of you know I have not been exactly honest with her about my spend on my car... until recently. I finally came clean and told her how much I have spent and about the ticket I got coming back from Dearborn. She has gotten over it now and we are back to a normal cadence. I post here for a couple of reasons. 1) It is not a good idea to hide your mods from your wife. Eventually she will find out about the KB, drag radials, suspension, gears, etc. 2) Hiding things like this is a lie that you have to perpetuate. Personally I am not normally that type of person so I feel much better now that she knows all. My wife puts up with me and is still here dispite my antics and for that I love her and appreciate her. Half the time it rains and there is a puddle, I'm actually surprised I can't walk on water over it and not get my feet wet. It's tough being a guy, but we manage somehow. She puts up with my car issues too and doesn't know about much of it....not because I lie to her, I just don't tell her and she doesn't ask.
