When fully depressing the clutch the vehicle still inches forward and is very difficult to downshift or put into first gear and an absolute bear in stop and go traffic also I have to turn the vehicle off to shift into reverse. I obviously need linkage adjustment and clutch work does anyone have any recommendations for a reputable shop in the San Jose area of  California?

You might try a post on the SAAC Forum as they focus on the first generation Shelby vehicles of the 1960s and have a good number of members in the area.  The regional club is the NORCAL SAAC club.  Good luck.
