Mike Hand
Anyone have comments or recommendations for a clutch replacement for a 2007 GT500? I had the clutch replaced at 20K miles by Ford but always believed they installed a GT clutch since the technician did not seem to understand the difference between a GT500 and a GT. Now at 40K miles the clutch is slipping again. A twin disk McLeod Street Clutch unit has been recommended but I am unclear as to the type of flywheel, Input shaft diameter, number of splines, etc. Also should the slave cylinder and/or pilot bearings be replaced with the new clutch? Thanks in advance
Douglas Whritenour
I have a 2007 Shelby GT500 40th Anniversary, 30K miles, and on my 4th (and final) clutch. Once past my Ford warranty, I went with a McLeod RXT Twin Disc 1000HP Clutch. Haven't had an issue.
