mrfarmdog
You're right....my car is faster than the KR Isn't the KR supposed to get 3.73 gears? If so it would probably get the upper hand at the strip.
ShelbyDude
Thanks. The KR hood should have been the original hood for the GT500! And this $100,000-$50,000 over MSRP crap is just that!! I don't care about free market bullshoot, it's not like I don't want the car (I DO), but it just isn't worth that much money!!! I agree as far as they are not worth that much money. I know I would never pay it! The good news is if this is in fact just crap then NO ONE will buy them at those prices and they will come down. The bad news is if this is not just crap then at least 1,000 people will buy them at those prices and they will never come down.
GT500-07
It's already been said, spend less and get the Super Snake Package, better bang for your $$$. Go back and check out Coldy's spread sheet he did (excellent job) comparing the stock GT500, the 40th package, the KR and the two Supersnake packages. The KR is not worth any ADM over $30K. Now if SAI will stick to 1000 Super Snakes per model year, we can laugh our butt's off to one's paying the big ADM's for the KR's

There's no reason for me to explain why, it would just involve me trashing the SS, which would be unnecessary and only one man's opinion. greygod
well I cant believe that the ford dealer in my home town got 1. cella ford, unreal and for anyone in nc dont bother calling them there's will be sold to 1 person. same man that got the gt500, last yr and gt 2 yrs ago. i will call them anyway just to ask of there mark up. Does the 373 gears compared to the 331 gears give enough to out perform 50 more HP on the 331 gears in the quater mile?

GT500-07
I've read that the KR comes with 18" wheels, not 20" that we have been seeing and the stance of the car is not that different from the stock GT500 but with Ford's upgraded suspension. ColdwaterHotrod
If they are going for 100K to 150K OVER MSRP (and I've heard this figure from Ford too), than the one posted here for $110,000 is a steal. If the KR stickers for $75,000 & they add $100,000 ADM, totaling ($175,000) you could buy the following: (1) New 2008 Vista Blue Shelby GT Convertible limited to fewer than 2500 units for $45,000 or less (1) New 2008 Shelby GT500 coupe for approximately $50,000 (1) Another New 2008 Shelby GT500 coupe modified with the 725+hp Super Snake Package (50k + 28k) $78,000 If the KR stickers for $75,000 & they add $162,500 ADM, totaling ($235,500) you could buy the following: (1) New 2008 Vista Blue Shelby GT Convertible limited to fewer than 2500 units for $45,000 or less (1) New 2008 Shelby GT500 coupe for approximately $50,000 (1) New 2008 Shelby GT500 coupe with a 40th anniversary package added (50k + 12.5k) $62,500 (1) Another New 2008 Shelby GT500 coupe modified with the 725+hp Super Snake Package (50k + 28k) $78,

GT500-07
There's 3 on ebay. One has 8 bids so far($45,100.00 over MSRP), second has no bids (bidding for ADM) and third has a starting bid of $125K.
ColdwaterHotrod
Rodney, I hope you are kidding with those ADM numbers I hope it's not true either, but look back at what Robert posted about the rumblings at Ford he heard. When you look back at the newer Ford GT (40's) & how many they built in a 2 to 2 1/2 year time frame (4,200?) they brought 100+k ADM's and were had mostly by collectors & movie stars the 1st year. The KR will automatically be limited to no more then a 1 year run & only 1,000 cars. If SAI announces a second year run before they start the 1st year run, then I think it would limit the ADM a little. Only time will tell

wanacobrava
Prediction: there will be a few collectors with money to burn that will pay ridiculous prices for the KR. Once those buyers are gone the price will come back to earth - $85K out the door at most. I might be crazy for saying that, but the KR is about hype and hype only lasts so long. The SS is a better value IMO. Sidenote: let’s not forget that the markets are getting crushed and portfolios are taking a beating. I don’t think people will be willing to pony up huge sums of money for a luxury item like a KR.

07Shelby#6200
After meeting Karl Tasca this morning I ask him if they were getting a KR. He said he was sure they were but they were not going to sell it. He said it was a fine fine fine car! I am sure many dealers will keep theirs, so I would not get too excited unless you have money to burn. Just my .02 cents. Anyone who has seen it in person falls in love I am told-will let you know!
