tpow96
John and I did begin working a route but it will need fine tuning when the weather hits spring. Actually we could use the assistance of someone that lives around the track or Carlisle to help out. Contact me if interested. Tony, do you need volunteer help before the event starts at the track? I have been debating taking the whole week off, and a factor was something hinted before about school time before/during the event. But I can also shift that to another track and be there early to help. -Tom
ilmor
You will love Summit Point - ESP running the track with a bunch of Shelby's. That's for sure. I used to race there in SCCA. Its an awesome track!
jerseygator
Pedro, Uno momento por favor...... You do a portion of the event is below the Mason-Dixon line and they use a different measurement of time down there. Lol. I'm anxious Tony! This is gonna be one heck of a year! :happy feet:

Anyone can come to the track to see the cars and watch the action. There is no charge to spectate at the track. The more the merrier. John, Andy and I will be meeting after the registration web site goes live to start working on some of the finer details and working on a "dream team" of volunteers to lend a hand. At the forefront of all of our decision making is that everyone (organizers, volunteers and participants) has a great time at the event. It will be a first class event! Thanks for the offer - we will let you know.
tony356
I'm anxious Tony! It will be fantastic! SSSNAKE
Signed up for Carlise today , then i found this topic. Did not sign up for parade but I do want to be parked with all the other Shelby's. Also waiting on hotel info. Like the idea of the secure parking. Don You may want to reconsider about the parade, it was (IMO) the best part of the show. We don't just cruise, but "park and mill around" (or not). It's great fun and the locals REALLY appreciate our cars with lot's of conversation and compliments. Just a really great time!
mywickedshelby
the inaugral parade for this event was this year, 2011, and it was fantastic.......they close off most of the town and clear the streets of all parked cars. we cruise in and park along both curbs and down the middle of the street. (this way you could stay as long as you liked without being boxed in) 2 bands playing, one on each side of town.......we walked around, eat outside at a great restuarant, .........it was a real hit....... just throwing it out there....cause its more than just a parade........ rpmcobra
I did the Carlisle event the weekend after attending the SAAC 36 event in VIR last year. Best event I've been to. Either way, a little track time for those who like to drag race. And only $20 per car, no matter how many fans and enthusiasts you have crammed in your Shelby! When you arrive at Carlisle you will be entering the grounds and driving to the middle of the showfield via a grand entrance.
