Well, not to rock the boat, but if all the people who pay nothing every year (cheaters, crooked business and illegal imigrants) just paid their share then the rest of us would be paying much less.

Just saying.....

:redcard: Go home? Funny you guys don't see the whole picture, I will be honest with you, I don't believe for a second that you or I would go out in the farm fields down here in the extreme heat infested with all kinds of hazardous materials to work them day after day for the wages they get and guess what.... do you think the owners of these farms want to pay them $10/hr when they can pay them $5? Do you think they get health care insurance from these owners? I work in the health care system and see these hard working folks day in and day out, there is more to "just deport them"..... BTW most illegals would rather work than wait for that handout unlike some "Legal Citizens". Let us not complain who picks our fruits and vegetables that we just had for dinner, it may have just been planted, cared for, and picked by that "illegal" who just wants a better life but let's just say that in order to keep costs down "everyone" plays the never seen it, never happened game and world just keeps on going. :glare:

Yes, if everyone pays their share we would be paying much less, however, there are many "loop holes" in our system.

In my opinion everyone is welcome to work and live here so long as they a legal US Citizens.

As for the IRS and the so-called health "reform" , that is just an extremely sad and unfortunate situation for the USA to say the least.

We have a large prison population in the U.S. why not make them harvest the crops to offset the expense of keeping them. Of course the ACLU would probably consider that cruel and inhumane treatment.

+1 - it costs $30k+ for each prison inmate a year. Have them earn it...

Are you sure, I thought for sure it was well over 40K, not including any Medical treatments needed...................

Well my friend........Have you ever thaught of fruit trees and vegatable gardens in your own back yard.........

It could save you a ton especially living in FLA..........

In my area the complaints are more about the Day Workers that cant speak English hanging out

at most the Home Depots and other building material outlets in So. Cal. And in your Profession

I am sure you can relate to visiting an Emergency Waiting Room where the majority do not speak

English and just for minor medical because they cant afford to pay for any treatment............Who

pays for this??????? It is just a deterioration of the Standards of life that we used to be proud of........

Question is why have laws and what kind of Society do we want in this Country for American

Citizens who deserve better??????????

The argument behind the "flat tax" is that it is unfair because low income people will spend 100% of their income just to live - so in thery they are charged on 100% of what they make.

Rich people don't spend 100% of what they make, so they are charged less percentage wise.

I kinda see the point there, but still think it would be more fair than what we have now, where so many pay nothing.

BTW - the IRS is really better than they used to be. At one time in the 80's and 90's the IRS was the most powerful agency in the US. They could come INTO your house without a warrant and take anything they wanted just because they claimed you owed money. You had very little recourse. Its not perfect, but it is much better now.

The more dough you make the more you spend....

They can still come into your house...I am being audited now and the guy wants to see my home office in person...pretty cool huh?

state by state is different, and federal is different. the lowest is $30K, and it is as high as $55K or so in some states...

yes, cool hand luke all the way...

and yes, IRS is still pretty powerful, and you pretty much are forced to claim you made a mistake and settle on a monetary amount to be left alone. There is a reason they normally settle for 10%. they are happy to get that, and they know that the laws are archaic, and ridiculous to keep up with.
