mywickedshelby
In the 80s......Rockefeller Center in NY and Pebble Beach (Cal) were sold to the Japanese......everyone screamed.... years later they were bought back by Americans for pennies on the dollar of what they were sold for.... I dont feel threatened and Im not worried. The Nets suck anyway!

What's he got like $50 or something? :happy feet: Well there are some billionares in Russia...just not legitimate businessmen....but this kinda fits if you step back and think about it.... Where else would a mafioso be more at home than NY/NJ? They dont allow pro sports in Vegas... In addition, Instead of vendors selling Miller Lite, they can sell airplane bottles of Stoli Vodka! The announcer can dual broadcast in English and Russian!

rown4au
Americans have done the same thing overseas, Liverpool fans were all up in arms when a couple of Americans came in and bought their team. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/ma...newsstory.sport It doesn't look like it is going to well for them though: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/footbal...rt-1792189.html Having lived in the UK for a number of years, if you think we have rabid sports fan in the US, its a whole different ball game there!!! (excuse the pun) By the way there was a similar uproar when Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea as well, but he poured millions into the team and just bought up all the best players money could buy so it turned out OK for the fans in the end!
