Favoite 80s bands with 1 or 2 hits

Recommended Posts

I'll confess I ran right out and bought "Q:Are we not Men? A: We are Devo" on vinyl the next day after seeing them on SNL. I also have "Freedom of Choice" on vinyl and another album whose name esacpes me. I now have them on CD.

:drop: Like I said before, the 80's were a blur.

I'm gonna say you have " Duty Now For the Future " which was their second album. "The day my baby gave me a surprise" was on that one along with their version of "Secret Agent man." Most of their stuff I have floating around the house on cassette and I know somewhere I do have "Freedom of Choice" on, dare I say it, 8 track. :hysterical:

All I have on CD is their greatest hits but I'll change that one of these days. :happy feet:

A few more hairbands from the late 80s and early 90s with one or two hits. It seems many of these bands had their biggest hits with ballads, although their heavier stuff was often pretty good:

Europe "The Final Countdown", "Carrie"

Going back to my roots of the 60's...Jimmy Page and Robert Plant hooked up as The Firm doing Radioactive.

Not quite...Paul Rodgers of Bad Company was the lead singer in The Firm and sang "Radioactive". Robert Plant began his solo career in 1982 and later formed a band called "The Honeydrippers" with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck and covered "Sea of Love".

Completely derailing the topic, but it concerns 80s bands:

the magazine National Lampoon used to run a "True Facts" section, which was pictures readers would send in.

The best one I ever saw was from the concert sign for the Garden State Arts Center in NJ, which read:

SQUEEZE

THE HOOTERS

I wonder if anyone ever posted that to the internet.
