The plan is catch a couple of days there, see MT Rushmore, head over to the Mall of America in Minnesota, and then our last stop will the legendary Dave's Guitar Shop in Lacrosse Wisconsin. Anybody along the way from this sight feel free to sound off with any recommendations...........

mrfarmdog
If you can swing it Grand Teton National Park is just below Yellowstone. Jackson Hole Wyoming is a very cool place. They have a nice town square that has arches made completely of elk horns. Here is a webcam showing real time pics of the arch http://www.jacksonholechamber.com/webcams/town_square.php
ejrail
+1 on Jackson. They have the Million Dollar Saloon, supposedly with a million silver dollars in it. I 've never been able to count them all :beerchug: for some reason! It is also the home of the National Elk Refuge, hence the antler arches in the town square. If possilbe take a raft trip on the Snake River. There are 1/2 day trips on calm water if you don't fancy the white water experience. We floated along side an otter who was on his back watching us for 10 minutes and we watched an osprey, like an eagle, dive fron a tall tree in to the rive and come up with a big fish for lunch. sportscars
+1 on the Tetons. Make sure you check out Lamar Valley in Yellowstone. Go either early in the morn (try to get there just before the sun comes up) or in the evening to see bears or wolves. Ask the volunteer guy at Canyon Village (or any park ranger) if there are any dead buffalo or elk around. Stake this area out and watch for bears and/or wolves. Take good binoculars if you have them (or a spotting scope)! Glacier Natl Park is great if you have time. Drive by the Crazy Horse memorial (it is kind of expensive to go in) but you can see it from the road. Check out Devil's Tower and Custer's last stand.
