Here's what Republican Ann Coulter has to say about the wives who's husbands were burned alive in the twin towers on 9/11:

"These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by griefparrazies. I have never seen people enjoying their husband’s death so much."

Pretty nice Huh?

I don't know if that's true or not, but like I said, there's bad eggs in every bunch.

First, Ann Coulter said that about a small group of wives of victims who had crossed over the decency line and decided to take a radical political stance. She was not talking about the huge majority of victims whom she sympathized with.

Second, following the impeccable logic of KC666 we should have elected John McCain who was a Navy Aviator and POW over Barak Obama who never served......

Ann gets it right most every time. And is qouted out of context just as often. Notable, is how quickly this thread became "humorless"

Ann Colter is the one who crossed the line, but if you agree with her, so be it. The victims of 911 were just trying to seek fame and fortune. Right.

I just think it's kind of interesting that all these prominent republicans never served. You can draw your own conclusions. Why do you think Rush never went to Nam(besides the boil on his ass)? Or Bush or Chenney? Why do you think Kerry and Gore DID go?

BTW, I never said military service was a litmus test to be president (or patriotism either), so I'm not sure what impeccable logic your talking about. The man the most people voted for won.

I just put up a list and a link whats that got to do with the election?

Besides, its a humor site, dont take it too seriously. Or do. Read some of it. If the shoe fits, wear it.

Probably because Rush didn't know it was a nasty term and use it that way, such as the liberals do.

So your saying you have to show your "conservative republican" credentials to be in USAF????

No, one of my good friends in the USAF is a huge liberal, We had lots of interesting and civil conservsations, sitting around smoking cigars on Saturday nights Ramadi Iraq. We were able to have fun poking at each other (just like JeffsInHereToo and me do here). After all, despite are political differences, we both had volunteered to serve our country. Honestly, I wish more liberal minded people would serve in the military.

The majority of US service members aren't republicans, but most are socially conservative. There are lots of socially conservative Democrats in the US military. The African-American community is well represented in the US military. Most African Americans are not Republicans, but according to poles, most are socially conservative. This can be seen in the rejection of the gay marrage proposal in California where the majority of Democrat African Americans voted against it.

My granddad is s a great example of a socially conservative democrat. He couldn't stand Reagan. He was WWII veteran who flew the US Flag in his front yard every day. He was "Blue Dog democrat" and totally disagreed with the left wing of his party, but it was his party.

Prior to the end of the draft, Democrats and Republicans, were both strongly represented within the military. Since then, the Democrat party has become more liberal (and the Republican more conservative). Few would argue that Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, and many others on the list on post 1 of this thread are more liberal than they were in the 1970s.

The US military by its nature is a socially conservative organization, with the USMC being the most conservative. Tradition is highly valued.

Have you ever heard of the Briggs-Myers Personality Test?

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment is a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions
Studies have shown that the majority drawn to military service are ESTJs and ISTJs.

E's being extroverted and I's being introverted.

ESTJs

Traditional and conservative, the ESTJ tends to apply a military model to most life situations, preferring linear channels of communication and command and eliminating any disorganization or confusion. In business, education, administration, law enforcement or the military, this type is evident as the outgoing

ISTJs

ISTJs are quiet, serious, responsible, sensible, patient, conservative, loyal and steadfast-maintainers of society's time-honored traditions and institutions.

An example of this, is the level of popularity of ROTC at liberal vs more culturally conservative schools. I think we can all agree that ROTC isn't very popular at Cal Berkley, but very popular at Texas A&M. And I think we can all agree that Berkley is socially liberal and A&M is socially conservative.

For at least the last 25 years, a disporportionate number of officers within the military come from red states i.e. many more officers come from the South than from the North East. I think we can agree that the South is more socially conservative than the North East. For years the military as tried to balance this out by increasing recruitment in the North East, but to no avail.

So no, I'm not saying you have to show your "conservative republican" creditials, but I am saying most folks who seek a military career are social conservatives.

In other words, your answer is "no" (You gotta dumb down for the Sailors in thew room). Leave it to the USAF to give you a speech in place of a word.

J/k - good reply and to the truth of what I've seen over the last twenty years.

Blue, we ask you what time it is and you tell us how to build a clock. JK. Concur with your assessment. And many democrats have served in the miltary, and with honor. Then there are those that saw it as a stepping stone to maintain their "political viability" (Kerry Gore, Klinton, et al).

What is more important than their service is how do they perform as leaders in government. Are they still interested in strengthening this country or turning it to socialism. Democrats usually cut defense spending and programs. They also weaken the military by having them do non military duties such as Klinton ordering the Navy to track whales. And the Klinton appointes to federal courts that order the Navy not to use sonar as it could have an effect on whales. Finally I am reminded of the current owner of the NY Times when asked if an American or a Viet Cong soldier would die whom should it be. He replied the American should die. God Bless Texas and our military. I think many look to the military and Texas to save this country from the socialists.
