Congrats Joe. What part of the country are you in? You got that order pulled quick considering the dealer.

Thanks, 442,

I'm in Asheville,North Carolina. Ordered car from dealer in TX at 1500.00 over. He has been great and has kept me informed by email or phone every week or so through the short process. I finally talked him into doing a courtesy delivery to a local dealer, but it may have been too late as the car had been pulled. He called me today to tell me that he got a fax from customer service that said the dealer destination had been changed and that the car had been released from QC. He said that he would know next week for sure where it would end up.

Sorry that so many have had to deal with the S B's, and I had my horror story with another dealer that backed out on a 2500. over deal back in May, but hey, I saved a $1,000 in the end. That will pay the shipping if I have to have the car picked up in TX and I would much rather give my check to the TX dealer.

See ya,

Joe53

I got good news on Friday also. My car has been BUCKED!!!!! It can't be long now!!! Can it?!?!?

Sooner than you think. I'm getting mine a week early. My Great Small dealer recieved the paper work on it last Thursday, think it will be here by the end of the week!!!!!!!!!! After it left the main plant, it couldn't have been in the striping area for just a few days and was on the way.

That's great news, epunhold! Congrats! :cheerleader::party:

And the Material Hold Club gets smaller. Not to worry. The self-appointed president of the club (me) is still holding the club together. :hysterical:

BTW, I'm up for reelection in June 2007. I REALLY don't want to win that one.

OK, OK, I will take the position as president...just make sure you let me know when I need to step up (meaning when you get your car).

I only ordered last Monday, a week ago. I"ll be the old guy on the block while all of you dude are tooling around in your rides....just remember me down here in NE Alabama.....if I can just get it in time for spring....it is a vert, ya know....

:hysterical: Good to hear I've got a successor waiting in the wings. Based on the latest info from my dealer, you may have a long wait to take over the presidency. It's looking like I won't be taking delivery of my Shelby until Q2, 2007 (i.e. April, May or June). :banghead:

Can I be secretary? Even though my letter said 4Q 2006, it's getting on into October and I still don't have a vin. I would say if I don't get one soon, I'll be waiting until the new year. I guess I better stock up on the Crown Royal...

Very true. There may be folks driving 2008's before we get our 2007's. This is very frustrating since I'm getting my dealer's 1st allocation. What ever happened to fulfilling 1st allocations before moving on to 2nd, 3rd, etc.?

On a positive(?) note, at least we will get the alleged Job2 "suspension upgrade" on our Shelbys. Whatever that means.

Maybe we should start a raffle for the person who gets the last 2007 Shelby made.

Well I plan on becoming Emporer of the "Material Hold Kingdom" . I got mine from a small town non PA/SVT dealer that was purchased by a Chevy dealer. They move a small amount of vehicles so I am going to bet that I will get the absolute last car built in 07 model year. I will also bet that my car will be the xth number car that will require a quality hold. Then the 08's will start piling up in front of my car and I won't get it until next Thanksgiving. But it is OK since I will be getting the rumored "upgraded suspension". I just do not understand why Ford is building cars for dealers that do not have customers names on them before the rest of ours. I understand allotment and all that good stuff but most of the SVT and PA dealers will have all of their allotted cars and I bet their Share of the Nation cars before us 4th quarter model year people will. OK I am off my soap box now. Good luck to us all!!!!

I was told yesterday that the letters that folks are talking about here are not part the northern new england zone. I've heard conflicting lines from a few people in here disputing that, all I can say is if you got one, post it.

If your from another area, it could be real. But I got my story on this from a national district coordinator in Detroit. The person that tells your zone reps how many cars they get every month. Then your zone rep allocates them to dealers in their zone.

I learned I should be getting my car in January. Am I banking on that? No. I have become as David Gilmour say's," comfortably numb". Material hold is a warm fuzzy place I like to call home.

Here's a quote from the letter my dealer got from the Mountain West Regional Director:

At the request of the Select Dealer Council and to assist you in managing your retail Shelby GT500 customer's expectations, Field Operations has held a national random drawing for all remaining Select Dealer allocations and estimated timing based on current production schedules. Below is a summary of the allocation remaining for your dealership along with the estimated quarter that your Shelby GT500 will be scheduled for production:

Dealer Code: XXXXXXX

Shelby Allocation Remaining: 1

Est. Production Timing: Q2, 2007

I've come to enjoy Material Hold myself. It's become my little security blanket. :baby:

I'm learning to take advantage of this time. I already received new Cobra floormats (they're sitting on my living room floor looking cool). Now I'm starting work on my garage...Going to put down Daytona floor tiles from JNK Products. I'm leaning toward a red and gold checker pattern. Yes, that's obnoxious, but Go Niners! I just have to convince my wife. She wants blue and grey to compliment the Shelby.

BTW, nice Pink Floyd reference.

I received a message from Ford Customer Service yesterday that indicated my car was to be built "in November". Unfortunately, I wasn't there to get the call or I would have asked for many more specifics, but it is reassuring news nonethless. The reason for the call was that they "escalated my call to a customer affairs specialist" yesterday when I called to get my weekly "MATRLHLD" report :P This was the first time they had offered to do this, and she said she was concerned that it had been so long since placing the order (I guess she didn't know the story with the T88's). Interestingly enough, my dealer called the next morning saying he had been notified by Ford, then I received the call yesterday afternoon.

The reassuring thing to me is that Ford at least seems to be making an effort on the customer relations/communication front. My dealer said the same thing.

My dealer called Monday w/ my vin. # (small non svt/pa dealer ) so I called CS and was told that it would arrive @ the dealership the week of Nov. 6. I called the next day to see if they had a build date and was then told it was serialized @ the factory awaiting schedule& delivery! I think the process is going backward ! Still hoping to have it by my 50th birthday on Nov. 14th Any predictions ????

Congratulations on joining the Serial Club :cheerleader:

Here has been my timeline if it helps give you any indication for yours: Serialized 9/8; Bucked 9/28; Built 10/3; still at "stripes" shop; Est. shipping date 10/13; Est. arrival date 10/20.

My philosophy has been to expect the worst :baby: ; and if it happens sooner, then it's time to celebrate :bandance:

Good luck, Hope you have a Golden birthday, with fast presents and everything. BTW my b-day is the 13th; I'll eat some ice cream for you!

If you expect the worst, that would mean you'd expect the car to accidentally be delivered to RUF's house, and he'd mistake it for a Huey, load up the guys, put a bunch of guns in the trunk, and head out for some hookers. :eek5:

No - but I keep Depends in my glove box for passengers.

Care for a ride?

Thank you kindly, but I think I'll...(ahem)...pass :hysterical:

Seriously though, just got an update on the car status: "Released to convoy carrier; pending convoy shipment"

So it appears that, at least in this instance, the bottle-neck at striping shop may indeed be gone. As someone else posted in another thread, Ralph had said about 10 days for striping.

My car's been apparently passing side by side with Sprint 200. My shippping date had been Oct 13th and arrival date at the dealer was Oct 20th. Thursday I was still "released from foreign plant" and today I'm "released to convoy", with a dealer date now of Oct 19th-26th. Where is your car going to? Mine's going to Galva, IL.

All I can get out of Ford CS is an eta of the 22nd. Can you tell me how you got this specific info on where your Shelby is, "convoy carrier" etc? Thanks

CC,

All they usually offered at first was the ETA. I would always specifically ask them "what is the Status Code?" and/or say "do you know where the car is right now?" To which they would reply "Bucked" or "released from plant" (heard that one for the last week and a half) and then finally today "released to convoy carrier"

Some of the phone jockeys really had no clue. Yesterday I got ahold of a guy named Joseph, (Aussie accent I think). Man, he must be on some heavy drugs. Nice guy but not all there. When that happens I usually just thank them for their help, hang up and dial right back.....

I got more info from my conact at the railway company than anywhere else though. They're the ones who told me the car was still at the "upfit station" (stripes) earlier this week.
