They work their tails off each and every day in 100+ temp. We (Shelby owners) are all concerned about our one car, and those folks are all concerned about each and every car that comes in the front door and rolls out the backdoor. Each and every little detail is covered. The whole process is an engineering feat. Yes I was aggravated for a while , but found out what the hold up was all about(quality of the paint on the hood) and I to would rather have it right than just have the car. I am pretty particular but I found each and every person involved in the process to be very particular also. A lot more could be said about their hard work and dedication but a big THANK YOU and a job WELL DONE is served up to all of you. Second thing- I delivered my car May 26th and was called Aug 11th that my car was ready. Left on the 12th and got to Vegas about 10:00 am on the 13th . I hung around there nearly all day bugging the folks there and looking @ all the stuff. Drove 2100 miles round trip ,spent 6 hours on the side of the road with trailer trouble, but made it home on the 15th. Great trip. I paid my deposit on Sept 24, 2007 and have not heard anything yet. When I last checked in late July, I was led to believe that the Sept deposits would probably not be called till October or November. I called Doug@SAI but have not heard back yet. So you should be getting THE CALL any moment now. Based on our conversation, I am guessing my call in late October/early Nov for my Sept 24 deposit date. I am planning on trailering my car home after completion, but have not figured out any details yet. Does anyone have any trailer rental info or recommendations? Grabber Orange with new Cpec clutch setup and JBA LT 3" system being put on and a custom tune from JBA until I can get it to a reliable tuner to make it 100% effective. I have a black convertible with the 40th anniversary badge on the grill. I got the call to come in on or about May 27, 2008, but couldn't get the car to Vegas until June 16 since I was expecting a baby girl any day. I picked up the new SS on September 4 and drove almost 600 miles home in about 12 hours to the SF bay area, although I enjoyed every second of it. The stern and direct warning from Adrienne to keep it cool until it's broken-in was obviously hard, but ultimately beneficial. First, I reluctantly moved right for a Prius (yes a Prius) about a 1/4 mile before an on/off ramp. 1 minute later the CHP coming onto the freeway from the ramp had the Prius on the shoulder. Later, I decided to follow a truck pulling a boat down a hill at an easy pace instead of going around. CHP was sitting at the bottom and only watched me go by. Good times all the way around.
