History Buff
I knew him when he raced the Shelby's Wildlife GT350 at Willow (later dropped sponsorship and smashed the car when a wheel unscrewed), he having eschewed the wire additions to the lug nuts) He was a witty announcer and added a lot of sparkle to his race commentaries., helping provide background to those new to vintage racing A celebration of Alan's life will be held at the Proud Bird Restaurant, Los Angeles, on March 28, 2020, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Fred Hilbert
Sorry to hear about his death. I met him once in 1978 at Shelby American Convention in Pasadena, CA. He was a Gentleman and gave me a few laps in SFM5R101 at Ontario motor speedway. I was not able to bring my SFM5R094 to the convention that year and I really appreciated the ride in 5R101!!! Sorry I will not be able to make his celebration of life, but my thought s will be there. Fred Hilbert SFM5R094, SFM6S1176
