Shelby American has no SUV's in the line-up and has not announced a future Shelby SUV but who knows what tomorrow holds. If the demand for a Shelby SUV suddenly appears I'm sure SAI would take notice. Steven

Wouldn't that be a crossover vehicle and not an SUV? Crossovers are what are selling nowadays besides trucks.
Secondo
Just going by an article I saw today on Autoblog: "But The Drive picked up on a line in Electrify America's version of the press release that we didn't see: "Ford will be releasing its all-new, Mustang-inspired electric SUV, that has a targeted EPA-estimated range of 300 miles with an extended battery and rear-wheel drive, in late 2020." https://www.autoblog.com/2019/10/21/ford-mach-e-rwd-range-battery-options/

First it was a four door Mustang. Then it moved on to a Mustang Crossover. Now we are on to a Mustang truck based SUV. Do I dare think what Mustang themed concept is coming next week? Lets hope the marketing/research company Ford is using is smarter than I am because I'm not seeing their vision on a single model based car company. Secondo
Ford didn't write the article. My original point was a Mustang-inspired vehicle, even an electric SUV, is a shoo-in for Shelby.

Performance SUV's have never been a big seller for anyone so what are you seeing that Shelby and other manufacturers are not seeing? Secondo
Why not? You guys make Shelby Focuses, F150's, Mustangs, now Ford makes Explorer and Edge ST's, and soon there will be a Mustang-inspired vehicle- it's already screaming for Shelby. SUV's are the second-best selling vehicles other than pickups! Dodge has the Durango SRT and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk! Shelby should jump on the opportunity! A SUV is a truck based vehicle with some off-road capabilities. A crossover is a car platform with no off-road capabilities other than to possibly look the part. I highly doubt the Mach-E is using a body on frame SUV configuration. But hey its 2019 and words have all different kind of meanings today. On another note... it’s amazing just how many (SUV’s - Crossovers - UV’s) or whatever you wanna call em (to include trucks and mini-vans) simply outnumber “cars” out on the roads today. Drive through a mall parking lot or look at a line at a stoplight, and 7 outta 10 are NOT cars. Maybe higher in certain places. Like the hockey or little league fields!! We have become a utility vehicle society. It’s no wonder Ford is trying to attract us with a Mustang inspired “whatever” it is.
Ryan Hunsberger
Ford is taking a leap and gambling on their global brand recognition with the Mustang and incorporating it into whatever this urban grocery getter. They are taking a page from Porsche in what they did with the Cayenne. It won't be for everyone, but it shows the value and recognition power of the Mustang. I do agree with Steven in the fact that performance SUV's don't sell. I will be curious to see what it actually looks like. Maybe if it is received and sells well, other variants will come from it. Don Johnston
Some performance SUV models do sell. Maybe not high price exotics, but the Ford Explorer Sport twin turbo sells well and do the Dodge higher horsepower models. BMW does fairly well with their SUV models. I would like to see a Shelby SUV model similar to what has been to done with the Raptor and other F150 trucks.

While it wouldn't be proper for me to comment on what SAI has in the pipeline I was disappointed when Ford decided not to bring the Ranger Raptor to the States as that would have been a cool truck to be Shelbyized. But who knows, another variant of the Ranger is appearing in 2020-2021 Steven
