LoneRanger
What about upgrading sound/performance of your new GT500? I have a 05 GT Mustang and put Magnaflow mufflers on it (cat back) - also had a cold air kit and predator tune, too. Anyway, the chrome tips look nice and the sound is better than stock but I was kind of diasppointed. It's not like I wanted it to sound like "straight pipes" but what kind of options are any of you thinking about with exhaust on the GT500? Thanks. I have the Magnaflow axle-backs on my '05 GT and I really like them. Plus, they would be simple to reinstall should I want to go back to stock. No cutting anything for the axle-backs. Keeping it stock appeals to me on this car.
KingCobra
Stock muffler sounds pretty thoroughly researched to me!!! I'll be sticking with that. Might be interested in a cold air kit though??? KingCobra.
kb67
I'd like to hear what these would sound like on the GT500 : http://www.borla.com/applications/lookup.a...ressive/140135/ It may be that these are the mufflers put on the GT500 : http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_...rtKeyField=7707 If that turns out to be true, I'd already have my wish the FRRP mufflers are Borlas that are rescripted with Ford racing on the tip. It will be interesting to see what parts become available first for this new car a humble guess would be rims and exhaust.
SteelSteeds
Ceramic coated long tube headers. It's the ONLY way to fly! Plus they sound fantastic on every other V-8 made, why would the GT 500 be any different?
DVS2XS
After all of the talk about how Ford spent a lot of time working on the exhaust flow and sound with an X-pipe, I would expect a good flowing rebadged aftermarket system to be on the GT500. The FRRP system would be a reasonable choice to be used. I am waiting to see which cat converter is on the car, so I can figure flow. Long tube headers over the stock manifolds would sound great but maybe only add up to 10 hp. Did I say it would sound great? A bit raspier than the sound in the videos would be nice.
