Cobra GT
Well after losing out one one deal and finding a better one, the wait is over or is it? It was first scheduled to arrive at the dealer on 6/26, however it was delayed 2 weeks getting those beautiful RED STRIPES. I heard it was on rail last Thursday....the excitement builds. Then I heard 7-10 days on rail, bummer. Yesterday the dealer sent me updated tracking information that it was already at the MD rail hub waiting to get loaded on a truck. He also told me he was only 40 miles from the MD hub. The excitement builds even more! I got a message late yesterday the truck was scheduled to deliver it last night and it would be at the dealership this morning! :happy feet: And.......it is sitting on the lot as we speak. Wait a minute, got a message this morning that the freaking car is damaged! Scuffs on the front and rear bumpers, this is not a big deal. The RED STRIPES are torn, I would assume on the bumper. These must be sent from Ford. It looks like I picked to wrong week to stop drinking! Back to the waiting game.
Joker45
Well that sucks. Nothing like getting your car finally and then it has some damage on it. Hopefully it will be fixed quickly and you will be on the road soon.

However, you will have IMO the best color combo...I want to see pics later. As the 3M yellow papers said to the businessman...keep us posted. I was going to be making travel arrangements this morning after I talked to the dealer...glad I talked to him before making non refundable arrangements. The car is near Washington DC and I am in Orlando. Once it is ready, I will fly up and bring it back on the Auto Train. The departing station is in Lorton just 20 miles from the dealership and the destination is the station in Sanford, just 25 miles from Orlando. Cobra GT
He's working on it right away Paul. Kev will have it squared away for you. Roger I know he is working on it immediately. the body work should be completed by tomorrow. Who knows how long the stripes will take to get sent from Ford. Heck it took 3 weeks for them to stripe the thing to begin with! I am concerned about the availability of the limited production red stripes. Are you going to Casselberry Friday or Saturday? If the weather holds I will be there. Paul
Mustangjem1
The dealer that I bought mine from placed their dealer sticker across the stripes on the trunk. I told them don't put any dealer stickers on the car. I just recieved my customer satisfaction survey in the mail, so needless to say they are expediting the new stripes for the Shelby. I can fill the survey out right once they take care of the mistake. Does this survey have that much power to the dealers?

Paul I swung by the dealer - Here are a couple pics of the work in progress. The guy doing the paint - Mike - thought the stripes were getting done tomorrow - though he wasn't sure. He wasn't doing the stripes - they'll bring someone else in to do that. My dealer did the same when my side stripes needed replacing. I said I might swing by tomorrow to see the finished work. I have already requested no dealer markings the be stuck on the back of the car, only a tag frame. I made this same request when I bought my '93 vert. When went to sign the paperwork for my '93 they stuck their name on my car any way. I then told them I would not sign any papers until it was removed! I doubt the survey has that much power, ShelbyDude would know for sure. The power of signing the papers is much stronger than after you drive it off the lot. Did he tell you how long it would take to get the stripes in? Paul

He mentioned that he would greatly appreciate me filling out the survey in a postive position if I can and if I have any issues with the car he wants to know. You can answer most questions, "Definitely Would", "Excellent", "Completely Satisfied". and then answer one or two with very good and/or satisfied and the dealer basically fails! Those surveys require top scores to maintain certain statis that has to do with part of becoming President Winner, blue oval, present year award recognitions, etc. So they can affect the dealer getting lousy surveys. Some dealers even base part of their pay plans to them where sales people need certain scores to get paid on commissions or bonuses. Depends on the dealer. Every time I have purchased a Ford, the dealership has made a very special point of making sure that I knew that I would get the survey and that if there was anything that would prevent me from giving them the highest score on each category, they wanted me to cqall them so that they could correct anything that was wrong. In the past I have been told that anything except the highest score on every question is viewed as a failing grade by Ford
Under10
Is that you snoop? If not, welcome to the forum. Nope, not snoop. I'm new to the forum. I'm one of those late baby-boomers (1963) that's always loved mustangs, especially the muscled up ones. Of late I have really REALLY been bit by the GT500/SuperSnake bug...I think I'm starting to freak out my wife with all the time I'm spending on the forum and just dropping hints like "wow, we'd look great in this car" or "maybe I should go ahead and make room in the garage for a car". mach1fever
Lol do it do it do it We are very good influences on you . Paul Sounds like the stripes will be there in no time. Shelby dude is right, most dealerships base part of a salespersons commision off of this survey. Same way with the service department. They will bend over backwards for it. Paul I probably won't be there because of homework, but I might stop by with the wifey if I have time. Can't wait to see it, but I was hoping for a private show

GT500FLYBOY
Damn these Redstripes are fine. Here's another Black Redstripe at another local dealer just 15 miles away. Just sold for $20k over. Didn't even have the Nav system or Shaker 1000. CobraGT - you stole your car. Around WDC, $15-25k is the going ADM. Apparently you got a deal since it was an internet car - this dealer's only.
