Is this emblem unobtainable or no?

Recommended Posts

Tossing around the idea of putting the "CS" inner emblem in for the regular GT emblem on the faux gas cap like the one below. Is this impossible to find now a days or does someone have a lead on one? I think this was a double stick applied over the top or maybe the GT is removed. Unsure.

Thanks!

That’s the one!  On the steering wheel, because flying metal isn’t a good idea when the airbag deploys, I used the 1969 S Snake wheel cap sticker that is metallic, easy to apply, and won’t take your eye out.  Posted here with link to buy somewhere.

Dome vinyl sticker on the steering wheel, safer than the factory tin pony ;) Sent a PM to the original poster with a link, at a much better price than the ebay items too.

Just keep in mind that the the steering wheel is tested and approved to breakaway a specific way do not to injure the driver. A metallic disk stuck on isn’t and can cause serious injury so know what you’re potentially getting into. The liability issues were why, unlike Steeda and Saleen, Shelby decided not to sell these.

This is what I bought:

While some of the ideas people have come up with for steering wheel emblems do look nice, whether they are metal, or a thin plastic label, or a vinyl sheet, what you used to mod your steering wheel cover from a legal standpoint will not matter much if you are injured by an airbag. The steering wheel and airbag and the initiator are considered designed and tested as a “system” and if it deploys and you have “modified” this system in any way, then a good insurance company lawyer is going to argue that by modifying the “system” you contributed to your own injury through what is called “contributory negligence”……and good luck with getting any kind of settlement…….As someone pointed out too, liability is most likely why Shelby didn’t mod the Steering Wheel emblem because they didn’t want to be involved in any liability within that legal “food chain”…….

Update: Still looking for this. Guy that makes them aftermarket couldn't do it apparently (after a month of waiting) and Shelby responded to my email that they're out of production. Any chance one still exists in the wild? Doesn't need to be new I can reglue it.
