Karashemshek
I am about to purchase a 2018 GT350 with 2500 miles. And then I got to wondering if the previous owner took the valve covers off and repainted them, would this cause warranty problems? With all I have been reading about oil problems in these engines, I don't want to all of a sudden have an oil problem and have Ford come back and tell me "Sorry" Warranty is not good because the valve covers removed for painting. Will visit my Ford dealer tomorrow and get their input. Don't want to call the purchase off but if it will affect the warranty, I can't do it. VNMSNK
You will be fine with painted coil covers. They are cosmetic only. You can always pick up a set of the black plastic covers and replace them for peace of mind also. It only takes a few minutes to change them. BIKEBOY
The “valve covers” as you call them, aren’t really like what you’re describing .... in the old days they truly covered the valve train. But on the new FPC motor (and basically all of Fords new OHC motors), the covers in question are just plastic cosmetic covers and cover the engine coils as VNMSNK described. Removing them is a “snap”...literally! Two seconds to remove one. I cannot see any possible reason why Ford would see these being painted, a problem at all. Mine are. https://www.flickr.com/gp/49646269@N05/ihJi9q https://www.flickr.com/gp/49646269@N05/Mk42h9

I have an inherent weakness for stuff like this and found these irresistible: https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6067-50FP I like what you did with yours - they're very sexy.
