MyBlueHeaven
Hey guys, have a favor to ask. I recently purchased a GTH/Terlingua style hood and am looking for pics of how you guys had them do your stripes. I know some did the standard continuous stripe all the way through, back to front of the hood. And some did the stripe from the back edge and stopped at the edge of the vents, then started it again above the vents to the front edge of the hood. I'd like to be able to show my paint guy so he has some references. My stripes are painted on, so the hood will be painted to match. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Very Respectfully, Jeff Brownlee
MyBlueHeaven
So nobody has a deepdraw hood that's been striped that they can post some pictures of?

MyBlueHeaven
Thanks Phyllis, is your hood a GTH hood or deep draw? From what I understand, the GTH hoods have the stripe going straight through from front to back and the faux honeycomb vent runs over it. My vents are true wire mesh so I wont be able to do them the same way. What I'm looking for are pics from inside or above, looking forward at there the stripes as they run through or up to the vent area. Some have said they ran them down to the vent and stopped just in front of the vent, then started them again on the other side, not making it a continuous stripe. Others have said they ran it straight through like the gth hood, just not on the mesh obviously. Just trying to see what will look best, and was hoping that those who have painted and striped their hoods would post up some pics in that view. Jeff So here is a pic of h0050's dd hood from a view I was looking for (found it on the web). As u can see it shows the stripe going around the vent area. I'm not sure I like how it looks with the inside edge of the stripe in the rounded area of the vent. Which is why I was hoping someone had a pic of it stopping just short of the vents, then starting again just above the vents to compare the two. Found another pic of the other option. Even though its a 12 GTS hood it shows how the stripes stop at the vents then pick back up on the upper side of the draw. What do you all think looks better? Anyone that wants to weigh in with an opinion, its definitely welcomed, so please do, as I try and figure out which way I want to go with mine
HARALD KELLEY
Hey Blue Heaven, that is my Deep Draw Terlingua hood on 06H0050. If I was to do it again, I would not go all the way through. That said, it still looks good and several others have done it the same way before me while others stopped at the top and bottom before the vents. Choices. I think I'm leaning towards not running them through. It doesn't look symmetrical with them running only on the inner rounded edge. Thank you very much for posting the additional pics. Thought I would get a lot more feedback on this. Guess those that had these hoods have moved on since. Jeff

I think that would look clean.

MyBlueHeaven
More Pics. Just got to get the terlingua and social director decals back on. Had to remove them for paint in case he needed to blend into the fenders. Also going back to Silver pit stripes, had yellow for the last two years for a change of scenery, but like the silver better. I would like to thank H0050 and teepee542 for the pics of their beautiful cars to help me decide how I wanted mine done and to show the painter how it should look.
