SAI-Steven
The 2017 SEMA week is now over and in the history book. Everything went exceptionally well from the launch of the new Shelby 1000, to the SAI/SEMA party at SAI, to the official release of the 2017 Shelby Annual SIP. Things went so smoothly you would think we've done this once or twice before. The only negative I can think of was that spectator attendance was down, most likely due to the recent Vegas shooting. SEMA vendors were out in full force so by having a few less spectators it actually made SEMA more enjoyable for the other spectators. Weather was perfect and the Shelby thrill rides ended with no breakage. Fadi Cherfane even had some fun in the Shelby parking lot slalom with some 10 year old KR tires mounted to his FR500C, can you say ice rink? The Carroll Shelby Automotive Technology Program folks drove out from East Texas to show off their latest project, a restored 1967 Shelby GT350 which was on display in our Heritage center during SEMA week. Carroll would certainly be proud of their skills. So for those of you that made it out to Vegas for SEMA week, it was good seeing you. For those that couldn't make it well hopefully we'll see you there next year. Steve
mach 1 1970
The Shelby 1000 you guys had was awesome. Some of the Roush Mustangs were really horrible to look @. Other participants also had a lot of goofy body kits that didnt look that great on the current Mustang. Keep up the great work @ SA. Last year Zero to 60 had a knock out Mustang GTT that they were supposed to produce. Dont know what happened there. It just goes to show you that Carroll Shelbys Tech school is helping kids get good paying jobs in Texas. He sure gave a lot to humanity with his foundation and all. Plus the auto tech school program he helped start back in 2008. Edited November 6, 2017 by mach 1 1970
tomshep
A friend is a vendor in one of the 18 wheeler trailers at SEMA. He said sales were off by 40% from last year. He said the shooting really hurt attendance, especially from foreigners. He said he would sell thousands at a single time to foreigners so they could work around import taxes. That business was gone this year. Tom

If anyone has been thinking of visiting Las Vegas, many hotels have discounted their rates so you may want to check into the current deals available. #VEGASSTRONG
