TRACK REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!!!

https://www.hookedondriving.com/event-details/Team_Shelby_East_Coast_Grand_Nationals

Team Shelby and HOD Northeast have joined forces to bring you a day of High Performance Driving at Summit Point Raceway (WV) on Thursday, May 31st, 2018. This is the opening event of the 2018 Team Shelby East Coast Grand Nationals.

First time 'track rats' as well as experienced HPDE aficionados are invited. There will be instructors available for both classroom and in car instruction, multiple run groups based on skill level, lunchtime parade laps, and a car show in the paddock for those attending but not tracking.

New for this year are Touring Lap sessions for Ford Performance Vehicles, which will bridge the adrenalin gap between the lunchtime Parade Laps and the all out performance driving experience. These will be at "brisk" speeds behind a pace car, there is no passing in the Touring laps group. This is a great way to get a Taste of the Track without committing to a full track day.

Please consider joining Team Shelby for the whole weekend, as Summit Point is just the beginning of a four-day adventure including a 100+ mile poker run/cruise, cars show, banquets and presentations from Shelby American and special Shelby related guests, live bid charity auction, parades, a surprise Saturday evening program, and participation in the Carlisle All Ford Nationals.

More information on the Team Shelby East Coast Grand Nationals can be found here...http://www.teamshelbynortheast.com/upcoming-events/

Lunch will be provided to registered drivers and those registered for the East Coast Grand Nationals. Lunch tickets for attendees not tracking a car, or not part of the Grand National event, can be purchased at track check-in/registration.

The early bird price of $299 for Novice's is limited and won’t last.

Register now to take advantage of the early bird pricing.

Looking forward to it! Can't wait to see what's in store for the 50th anniversary of the GT500KR.

After hearing the stories and seeing the pictures from this past year, the wife said she wants to go too! We'll be doing all the events for the whole long weekend.

Nice! Glad you will be joining us. You're gonna have some damn fun!!!

When will their be more details released on this event?

Thanks

Jack

Jack -

Please let me know if you have a specific question, and if we have figured out that portion of the event at this point, I'll gladly answer.

Have you signed up for the track yet? That registration is open, and there is a discount for Novice drives through the end of this year.

Hotel information is not being released until registration opens for the full event, and you will need a code to get one of the Team Shelby rooms.

Last year we announced the hotel information early so attendees could book their room ahead of time.  Unfortunately people who weren’t participating in the Grand National got a hold of the information and booked rooms saying they were with our group, in order to get the better rates we had negotiated.

That caused legitimate members to have to stay at other hotels, and some at a higher price.

My suggestion is that when registration opens, you sign up and book a room ASAP.    In the past those folks who signed up in the last few weeks before the event, find the only available hotel rooms are an hours drive away (especially in Carlisle).

Will Open Registration be announced via this thread or should we be watching elsewhere?  Thanks!

It will be announced here, on Facebook, via e-mail (if you have attended before and I have your e-mail address, on multiple Mustang/Ford/Shelby websites, smoke signal, and carrier pidgin.

We get the word out every way we know how!

Its on my calendar. Any more details on the event. I registered for track and for Carlisle.

You have done everything you can at this point!  I wish all attendees would sign up early, as it would make planning the remainder of the event much easier.

I hope to make a final decision on our Saturday evening activity in the next week or two (have narrowed it down to three viable choices), and get confirmation back on availability of a facility we want to use, then we can announce everything and open registration.

Wow!  Seems like everyone was poised and ready to go......registration is off to a frenzied start.

I would suggest if you want to ensure a room at one of the host hotels, you sign up early.  At this rate our supply will be exceed by the demand.  If you wait too long, you may not get a room...or find yourself sleeping on the floor of a friends room (been there, done that).

For those who arrive early in West Virginia on Wednesday. From noon to 5:00pm, Team Shelby will be the guests of Obsession Performance and have exclusive use of their chassis dyno for the afternoon. Let’s see who brought the most HP. ?

I stopped by the dyno shop today and conveniently next door they have a large empty circle that appears to have become a makeshift tire proving ground. I just happen to be ready for my 3rd set of tires on the KR and I have never done a burnout.

1st attempt 1st gear and the 2nd was 2nd gear.

I think I need more practice lol

I have been asked what type of event merchandise will be available this year, so here is a pre-view...

The event t-shirt ($20 + shipping) is still being finalized, but will look pretty much like the below image.

We will have large magnetic bottle openers for $30+ shipping (image below)

Possibly 16" x 20" posters of the event logo

Team Shelby Northeast Windshield banners

and large (approximately 4' x 3') garage banners of the event logo for $60 + shipping
