William Rodgers
Lol. As far as I know the only car with an Upfitters Package that used that exact terminology was the Shelby GT. Were there others??? This is funny I guess the Wheels and emblems equal an Upfitters package. Embarrassing for that Ford dealership.

Its not the first time I've seen those engine compartment plaques. If anyone knows who is making/selling them please let me know so that CSL can bring the hammer down on them. Bill_T
Not surprised that a dealership doesn't know what is real and what is phony. Most car salesman I have talked to in the last few years are not car guys. No difference to them if they were selling furniture, appliances or cars. It looks like the Under Hood badge has the same VIN#. Just curious to know.

Got owner modded er, upfitted Based on the asking price the dealer either got taken themselves or thought they we're taking the previous owner and trying to make lots of money on this one. Embarrassing for that Ford dealership. as a side note, back in '07 when I was looking for a Shelby GT, I called a local dealer to see if they one and the salesman told me "We don't have a Shelby GT on the lot but I can order you an '07 Mustang with the Shelby upfitter package". When I asked what that was he told me it was the stock mustang with the beefed up suspension package, bigger sway bars and lowering springs. EL SHELBY
Steven, I'm curious. Does SA contant dealers with cars like this and inform them of their negligence/obliviousness? I was perfectly fine with the car and it's Shelby add-ons until the plaques. Even more curious how much they gave for it on trade or at auction if they knew what it isn't. SAI-Steven
Steven, I'm curious. Does SA contant dealers with cars like this and inform them of their negligence/obliviousness? I was perfectly fine with the car and it's Shelby add-ons until the plaques. Even more curious how much they gave for it on trade or at auction if they knew what it isn't. Basically the answer would be no. Now if a dealer was repeatedly misrepresenting cars it might be worth the effort to reach out to them but like an ebay seller misrepresenting their car, we can't do too much about it. When I post links like the one above, its just an example on whats going on out there that some might find some humor in. If you think about it, SAI would need to hire a full time employee just for the Cobra kit car sellers who slap on a reproduction SAI Los Angeles, California tag and then advertise the car as a "real" Shelby Cobra. caveat emptor

william strauch
I just two days ago had a Ford dealership tell me that GT500s came out in 2005. I was amazed at that statement.
Don Johnston
I frequently send message to false advertising at local dealers and local Craigslist ads. Some will correct, some give attitude. Amazingly, though, how many thank you that I get by suggesting a better wording that is an honest description of the Modified Mustang. Any ad that has a place to post a comment will usually correct quickly.

They also mean that someone is making money off of Carroll's name! That is a no no. Try selling pictures of Donald Duck and see how long it takes before Disney is knocking on your door!
