SHELB06
I purchased my 2006 Hertz recently and the front facia is not drilled for a front license plate bracket. I was hoping to use one of the "screwless" ones from Craig Broussard but he does not offer one for the '06 Hertz. I've reviewed some previous posts regarding front mounting brackets and am leaning towards a factory bracket. Is the 7R3Z-17A385-CA the correct Ford bracket for my car? I also read one post showing a Plymouth PT Cruiser bracket used on the front. Still In my glovebox is the envelope with license plate attaching screws inside. The picture on the front shows the license plates being directly attached to the front and rear without any brackets! This is the way my front plate is attached to my '96 GT. There is no bracket at all. Does anyone have any information on what is correct or what is the norm? Much appreciated! Craig R

Ford Fest
Don't drill holes. Get a Big Mike's Sto N Sho bracket. Pick the one that fits your bumper. I have one on my 40th and it works great. http://shop.bigmikesperformanceparts.com/2005-2009_c42.htm
MarcSpaz
Put me down for the Sto N Show two. Used them on two of my cars and love em. Cheap money too. I would only put the stock plate holder on it if your exact/specific build was supposed to come with one. And even then, I would likely toss it in the trunk and just hold on to it for resale value. SHELB06
Mine has the original Ford Bracket... Hope this pic works.. Thanks for the picture. That does help. I just need to verify the part number if I decide to go this route. Craig R

SAI-Steven
Thanks for the link. I contacted them to see if they market one for the '06 Hertz. Should know Thursday. Craig R Craig, The 2006 Shelby GTH uses a 2007 California Special front fascia so if they say they show no application listing for a 2006 GTH ask them to look up a 2007 Mustang California Special. If your set on drilling your bumper and using the Ford mounting bracket, heres the Ford part number 7R3Z-17A385-CA Steve
SHELB06
Thanks everyone for the valuable information. The SHO N STO bracket is a great idea but it lowers the license plate too far for my use. Ground clearance is already compromised to begin with. Besides, being able to remove the plate is not a necessity as this car will be used more for "go" than "show". I have decided to go with the factory mounting bracket which seems more appropriate for me. Craig R
William Rodgers
No plate here, I can not stand when dealers mount front plates without the buyer giving the OK, there are plenty of other options besides drilling a hole in the bumper. Years ago I bought a 911 and the ass clowns drilled 4 holes in the bumper, I was furious, who the hell would do that?? Personally I have run with no front plate for 10 years and only got pulled over once, that was about 8 years ago, I got a warning, the cop just wanted to check out my car. I ran no plate on cars the past 20 years and have only received one ticket, even that one I got out of when I fixed it temporarily before court. Helge Ruchelski
A agree carnut12. If you notice my Super Snake has no front plate and I won't ever install one. I have a removable holder (Craig's Custom plate holder) in my trunk in case I ever get pulled over. As for the GT-H, it came that way so front plate it is. Don Johnston
I have no problem with a front plate since the majority of States require it. However, if compelled to have one, I would recommend a personalized vanity plate as it takes some of the edge off of having the bumper billboard. Many on this site have some great personal plates. KOBRA2848
The part number for the Craig's no drill for your car is CC-0509-SA-CS-SGT. It looks a whole lot better than the factory one and they cost about the same. Mark

Speaking of personalized plates, here's the one I was able to obtain. The California Legacy plates are a great match for the '06 Hertz. Just another reason, besides abiding by the law, to have a front plate! Craig R

That's what I have for my Shelby GT.

Mark Apparently Craig changed his Mustang application design and no longer tools the brackets for our cars like he used to. I like mine once I had him modify it for me by changing the holes on the mounting plate (the part that permanently attaches behind the bumper cover) to a slotted style so I can more easily slip the removable bracket up and down for easier removal and assembly. SHELB06
Went with the factory license plate holder. Didn't hurt that much to drill those 2 holes. I'm very pleased. Craig R

ITHERTZ66
Nice plate! Wish my same plate frame was usable in MN. Unfortunately, the design interferes with the tabs locations up here so I can't use it ):
SHELB06
Thanks for the compliments! I was surprised that this sequence was available. I was fortunate as the plate on my '66 Hertz reads SHELB66. Craig R
