Source of Shelby GT Lynch Pin

Any one have a source for the lynch pins on the 2008 Shelby GTs. One of mine has disappeared and Shelby only sells the complete kit. I am pretty sure that Scott Drake manufactured the kit but they do not sell the pins separately. All the others I have seen are not the same.post-31181-0-10148200-1480892228_thumb.jpeg

Thanks for any help.

I think the original poster is just looking for the pin and spring/ring. I doubt you'll find them anywhere separately. The OP is correct in that they were originally Scott Drake parts. One of my lanyards developed rust and while my car was here pick my car up after getting the GT/SC upgrade I pointed it out to Bud who made a quick phone call and gave me directions to Scott Drake where I was given a set to take back. They installed them in 10 minutes. Anyway, you might call SD and see if you can just get the pin/lanyard without the rest of the kit.

I have seen the replacements on Summit and Jegs but they are not the same. On the originals the pin is machined from one piece and rounded on the bottom. All the others I have seen are a round pin in a square block. I did talk with Scott Drake and they do not sell just the pins and recommended I talk with Shelby or CJ Pony parts which was also a dead end

I believe they are also called torsion clips, as well as,linch pins. You can get them at summitt racing for about 7 bucks or autozone for about ten bucks. Search "torsion clips for hood pins". I would post a link but can't get it to work from my tablet at the moment. Edited by mhr1961

Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace. All sell these in the hardware section in various sizes for just a few dollars.

I always expected some Jack Ass walking by my SGT would either attempt to swipe them or just pull them allowing them to dangle from the cables hoping I wouldn't notice and scratching the paint. My remedy was to pick up a couple extra from the hardware store and remove the originals with cable and store them when not showing off the SGT. Since the cables were rivited to the chassis I drilled out the rivits and reinstalled with rivit nuts.

Check out your local hardware store. The OE pins are no different then what you can find at any hardware store.

My originals had a square block. Look like any pin you could find at the hardware store.

Pm returned Mark.

Take em both.

Chris

My car had 168 orig miles on it and never saw the light of day, when I bought it in Feb of this year. I bought the whole "alloy" kit to exchange the plates and didn't use anything else out of the kit.

This is what this site and community is all about. :salute:

Thanks for the tip on this. I ordered from them yesterday. They are stainless steel. I ordered both sizes given how reasonable the price was. They come without cables, which is just what I need.
