weider1717
Are the 11+ strut mounts worth upgrading to? I am buying new mounts so I don't have to disassemble my front springs when I installed the new lowering ones. I will just remove them and keep them in tact. So, I am buying new mounts and nuts to do it this way so question is go back with the same exact OEM mount for my 07 or the 11+ and if so why? what is the differences? thanks

This would be Ford part number BR3Z18183-D or FRPP part number M-18183-C. All of the replacement applications for 2011-up are now this part number, but originally they were for the 2011-up SVTPP Coupe only and the other 2011-up applications were a different part number. ^^^Those strut mounts have a better durometer rubber for better handling, for lack of a better description, they are less marshmellow and better for performance. If you buy the FRPP mounts, the mounts contained in that FRPP box will be mounts with the Ford BR3Z18183-D part number on them and cost less money than buying the same mounts from the Ford dealership. weider1717
Thanks Robert because I was having a problem finding OEM exact replacements for my 07 actually didn't find any at all. So was curious if the above would be fine and be an upgrade actually. What is the part number of the ones on my 07 and your 08? I didn't have that to search for them. My Ford parts friend said that the 2005-2010 use the same replacement strut mount, so it is not GT500 specific. He said it is AR3Z18183-A. My concern is that this AR3Z mount would be more on the soft side and not perform as well over time? <<Just a thought. Buying them from Ford parts dept. is probably going to go well beyond the FRPP mounts in cost which are re-boxed later mounts and listed for all 2005-2014 Mustangs. weider1717
Thank you Robert! I will go with the 11+ mounts and I will report back if I can feel they gave any difference.
Robert M
Thank you Robert! I will go with the 11+ mounts and I will report back if I can feel they gave any difference. I am not sure if there will be any difference that can be felt and related directly back to those mounts? but I would guess that Ford SVT engineers designed them originally for a specific purpose on the more performance oriented SVTPP optioned cars. Unstable Vic
The difference is a QUIET front end! My car had a loose lumber noise going over the slightest road imperfections. Now it's whisper quiet.
