SAI-Steven
The current Ford Mustang has only been on sale for about two years, but it appears the car is set for a mild refresh. Our spy photographer caught a heavily camouflaged prototype running around on public roads............................. http://www.autoblog.com/2016/09/27/refreshed-ford-mustang-spied-testing/?ref=yfp
David Hawkins
I saw that this morning and from what I can make out, I don't see much change at all. Maybe a slight Grill Change, MAYBE a slight Tail Light change and maybe, just maybe a minor Hood change.
Hawkeye O'Saben
When I was heading thru Detroit last week I saw a Lincoln that had weird things on the sides near the back tires and camouflage stuff on the front end.
ShelbyEra08
I wouldn't be surprised the front end and rear end will be different compared to the 2015-2017 Mustangs, like how the 2013-2014 Mustangs were different from the 2010-2012 models. Not sure why all the camo on the rest of the car unless Ford is trying to distract us.
39Mustang
This shows nothing and I think Ford is making a mistake. The S550 has been a huge hit so no reason to change anything except offer better COLORS to choose from which sells more cars. Most buyers don't care about what we do so they want it to look good and hard to do that with their same boring dull White, Black, Red, colors. The Lightning Blue is great! Best color they offered since Vista Blue and Legend Lime and I can see a 2018 Lightning Blue Mach 1 in my corral soon. How many current new GT350 owners would have ordered it in Legend Lime if available, quite a bit My ideal Mustang colors... Legend Lime, Ingot Silver, Lightning Blue, Tuxedo Black, Gulfstream Aqua, Royal Maroon, Ferrari Red, Bright White, Grabber Blue, Dark Moss Green, Grabber Yellow, Indian Fire Red, Medium Bronze Metallic, Silver Jade, Tungsten Gray. Stay with current Mustang colors or my list??? The only part on the Mustang I would fix is the grille opening. Its a bit big so close it up or add some grille corral bars or driving lights like the 2005

Bill Hamilton
I think it's humorus that the manufactors camaflague the "next" models this way. I'd be more likely to notice the car with covers and weird paint schemes than looking like a normal car going down the road. I think this way they get more coverage than looking like a normal model. SAI-Steven
This shows nothing and I think Ford is making a mistake. I wouldn't say it doesn't show us anything, it shows us that Ford has made changes to the front & rear that they obviously don't want the competition to see yet. Below is Motor Trend's take on the photos: Thanks to the heavy camouflage, it’s hard to know exactly what Ford is preparing. But these images suggest that Ford may have changed up the headlights and made the grille less pronounced. Out back, the taillights look different as does the rear bumper, which is only partially in place. Unless the camo is misleading us, the license plate surround also takes a new, more enclosed shape. It'd probably be tough to do on a "refresh", but I'd really like to see a return to an actual 1/4 glass, with a sheet metal separation. The current car looks like too many other cars without it, IMO. ilmor
I would like to see a return to the roof "C" pillar to something similar to the S197 models.
mhr1961
I would like to see a return to the roof "C" pillar to something similar to the S197 models. Don’t hold your breath. It is highly unlikely that you will ever see the C Pillar on the Mustang go backwards towards what it used to be on the S197 platform. The Mustang is now a “World Car”. The Mustang C Pillar is now modeled more after the Euro/BMW style C pillar also known as the “Hoffmeister Kink”. This change also improved side/rear blind spot issues that were inherent in several iterations of previous mustang fastback C pillars. Secondo
Cant agree on the better looking, however that is a subjective issue. Can't go backwards, Ilmor. Have to keep moving forward if Ford is going to survive in the fiercely competitive automotive industry.
Frank S
Can't go backwards, Ilmor. Have to keep moving forward if Ford is going to survive in the fiercely competitive automotive industry. Would you say there is a leader in the "forward" direction? Is it someone other than Ford? Do you reckon (thinking specifically about "C pillars") that if the leader reversed course, others would have to follow?
