Or he simply wants it on his floor plan but doesn't want to sell it. There was a dealer in Kansas doing the same thing with a Ford GT - brand new, for sale, in the showroom, priced 100K above the selling prices. Of course now that car is probably worth what he was asking then. I lost track of who it was so don't know if they still have it.

Was it a red no stripe car? The dealer I bought my GT500 from had one in the showroom. When I inquired in 2011, he was firm at $250K.

I talked to these guys about a track pack and he mentioned they also had an R. However, they said it was the owner's car and not for sale. Then why mention it? I'm guessing they wanted me to see it as unobtainium and make an insane offer. Apparently that approach hasn't worked so they're asking insane prices now.

 

However, i placed an order for a '17 at another dealer last Sunday. They can keep their R model.
