konablue2011gt500
I just bought a 2011 Shelby GT500. Kona Blue with white stripes. looking for any tips, do's dont's or any helpful info that is available. Car was clean well taken care of and has low miles. The only thing that bothers me is that the previous owner changed the wheels to Foose wheels, which is no biggie except he put 18 inch wheels on it. I would like to know if there is any place where I can buy a set of the original wheels.
Bookwyrm
Welcome to Team Shelby and the joy of owning a Shelby! Great choice of color too! As for the wheels, you can get them brand new from Ford, but they cost an arm and two legs.. Your best bet is actually to call Shelby or check their eBay listings and see if they have any take-offs from a supersnake build.
1 Alibi 2
Welcome to TS, congrats & good luck with the new ride. OEM wheels come up for sale from time to time, but aren't cheap. Edited June 22, 2016 by 1 Alibi

konablue2011gt500
Thanks to everyone that replied. However a few more questions. Does anyone have any suggestions for a preferred wax? This is my third mustang and have had issues with some type of film that builds up on the inside of the rear window about every three or four days any suggestions as to what it might be caused from? It has done it on all three of the Mustangs that I've owned. Does anyone have have any suggestions on brands of motor oil for the Shelby,s. I now they recommend 5w50 synthetic. I used to run royal purple in my 2014 GT but they don't make a 5w50. I was considering running Amsoil in the Shelby any thoughts?
