jaspar1
Here is another of the oh so hard to find KR hoods that always seem to be for sale on Ebay. This listing even has the "KR hood story". I wonder if the seller has the hood delivered to the buyer in a Brinks armored car. He makes it sound as if these things are warehoused in Fort Knox style storage, with guards, fences, cameras, etc. Five grand for a hood, indeed.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Shelby-Mustang-GT500-KR-OEM-Genuine-RARE-Carbon-Fiber-Hood-/252360371262?hash=item3ac1d9ac3e:g:-PQAAOSwUdlWcIxI&vxp=mtrLooks like there was a price break on this one, here is a prior listing for the same piece by the same seller:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Shelby-Mustang-GT500-KR-OEM-Genuine-RARE-Carbon-Fiber-Hood-/252321436892?hash=item3abf8794dc:g:-PQAAOSwUdlWcIxI&vxp=mtr This guy is quite the business man! Wow! another price reduction. This is a real blow out, door buster this time. Only $3900 for a hood! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Shelby-Mustang-GT500-KR-OEM-Genuine-RARE-Carbon-Fiber-Hood-/252397011943?vxp=mtr Edited May 20, 2016 by jaspar1
DarthLord
It's the real deal. It came off my GT500 I sold. He bought the car, stripped all the parts, the traded it in for 2014 and is/was selling the parts.
speedrx
I think SA sells them on Ebay for about $2K
ShelbyKR664
I think SA sells them on Ebay for about $2K Unpainted, no stripes, twist lock hood pins and the obsolete vents. I was going to buy a hood until I found out the vents are not available.
ShelbyKR664
SA now selling the unfinished hoods for $999 on Ebay. If only the vents were available.
ShelbyEra08
yea i am with ya, i would order that $999 hood if it has the Hood Vents.
speedrx
$1K for a KR hood is a deal. Any aftermarket hood vent options? Why are they unavailable?
ShelbyEra08
with all of the hoods and hood pins they are offering on eBay, I am really surprised they didn't have any leftover hood vents
ShelbyKR664
The only set I have seen for sale was from a Ebay seller in NJ. He was asking $1000 buy it now. Have not seen a set since. The hood SA is selling would only be good for a current KR owner that needs to replace their hood while retaining the vents. I hear they a very difficult to take off without damaging the tabs. speedrx
I wonder if the original supplier to SAI for the vents would have interest in making another run, assuming they still have original tooling, seems like there is a market for them. They could probably take orders before the run to judge demand, similar to the last run of Alcoa wheels.

ShelbyKR664
I guess the question is how many hoods are left to justify a run.

atlanticbluestang
I have made the GT500KR hood vents on a 3D printer. I am wondering if anyone is interested in a set. I have attached a picture of one from the 3D printer before it is sanded and primed for painting.
