What NOT to do when leaving a car show..................

Unfortunate event, and not an uncommon occurrence, there are dozens of videos on the internet like this one of some guy leaving a car show like this and losing it. The odd thing to me is that he hit that other car pretty darn hard and it didnt look like the Mustang's air bag(s) went off.

Happened to me once, except I didn't do what this ass clown did, I just gunned it in second with cold tires. For what it is worth I had traction control on and it did nothing.

I let off the gas and rode it out so my ending was different, looks like he might have hit the brakes.

I didn`t see any brake lights ,I think he over corrected but stayed on the throttle. Idiot could have let off & maybe saved it.

I just watched again, I think you're right. That's exactly what saved me, letting off the gas. I was amazed at the momentum though, mine didn't slow down as fast as I would've thought. That was my lesson to respect the power and watch temperatures closer.

They teach this sorta thing at places like Bondurant. EVERY single person that applies for a drivers license, oughtta have to go thru a training course that explains the "physics" behind momentum shift, and tire patch, and how to control both. Plain and simple.....

Instead, all we are taught, is how to parallel park and when to turn on a blinker, and stop for people in the crosswalk. You know....the dangerous stuff.

In my '13 GT350 (624 HP package), I can't even break the tires loose without shutting it all off. It will not allow rear tire slip and any yaw or swaying, maybe this was an old one without any of that technology.

Its funny you mention that, mine usually is similar, I can break the tires loose, but then it almost feels like it bogs down (I am assuming that is the traction control), but in the case I referenced for some reason it did nothing, I was actually surprised it didn't. I would imagine technology has improved since 2007, my system doesn't work nearly as good as my friend that has a Vette, his keeps the car straight while he keeps his foot on the gas, mine feels like it takes away all of the power.

Skid and slide control was one of the first things I taught my daughter when she learned to drive. Snowy, icy parking lots are perfect for the lessions.

No matter how straight your car goes, this kind of behaviour has shut down many C&C events.

You are speaking the truth. We had a big issue in Charlotte after too many burnouts and a big crash happened. They shut us down and it took a LOT of convincing with local authorities to bring Cars and Coffee back to life. Sad really..... Just a couple of idiots ruin things for the rest.

First good snow after I got my driver's license I got the car after Mom got home from work and told her I was going to the school parking lot to play. She said "don't hit anything". Best training you can get, learn how to make mistakes with nothing around to hit, and remember what NOT to do. With traction control and all that other stuff on new cars, it's almost impossible to lose control (and yeah, I keep trying and pushing the limits on my Jeep).

wow that guy was crazy! with events like this they should have some of the show at there local drag strip if they have one. I know when I would leave a car show you feel like you want to get it on a little because you are at the show for so long and its in our blood to go fast and its just letting off a little steam. This guy took it a little to far and had little to no control over it.

UNFORTUNATELY BOKEBOY, NOW THEY HAVE CARS THAT SELF PARALLEL PARK, WARN AND EVEN BRAKE WHEN A DRIVER GETS TO CLOSE TO ANOTHER CAR. MY 65 KEEPS ME 110% AWARENESS WHEN I AM ON THE ROAD!
