New Ride: 2014 Mustang GT Track Pack

Hi my Team Shelby friends, just wanted to post some pics to show you my new ride. It's a Ruby Red 2014 Mustang GT Premium Track Pack. The Track Pack comes with the Boss 302 Helical rear end, 3.73's and aluminum differential cooler cover, Boss radiator and oil cooler, Brembo Brakes with upgraded pads. Not sure what material they are made from but it definitely stops pretty quick. I have 2 sons that will be driving this year and wanted to get a car that I can use as a daily driver if needed and can work with all of our (my wife, sons and I) automotive hobbies like car cruises, shows, drag racing and autocross tracking. Since I sold the GT500 back in November, I had looked at thousands of Mustangs online and a few in person. For some reason, for a while there I really wanted an '03-'04 Terminator Cobra and I had actually "bought" 2 of them, only to have the owners change their minds overnight about selling. I'm glad they did because then I would have missed out on this beauty. The previous owner of this car sold it because he had no room for his other 3 Mustangs and wife's car in the driveway and garage and rarely drove this car since purchasing it new in August of 2014. As you can see by the pics, the car is in perfect condition with only 6700 miles when I bought it a couple weeks ago. Ever since my wife bought her 2011 Mustang GT, I was very impressed with the new Mustangs and 5.0 engine. Quite an improvement over my '05 Mustang GT and '07 GT500 I must say. It might not be as quick as the Shelby but it is more refined, nimble and fun to drive. The previous owner put some very tasteful mods on it (listed in my signature) and the first mod I plan on getting (the motor has not been touched) is a Ford ProCal tune which from what I have read in the 100% positive reviews, wakes up the 5.0 quite a bit under the power curve while maintaining the Ford warranty. What do you think? At first I was a little nervous about the lowering springs and the ride quality, but actually, the ride is quite good. The Roush axle back's sound is always present but amazingly not annoying at all. The car sounds great with them. The stock shifter knob is slippery and "plasticy" and will also be one of the first things to be changed but the shifter itself is fine. It doesn't have the "skip-shift" feature which is a relief. Ford removed that on the '13's. I just finished reading the owner's manual which is a couple hundred pages long, there's much to learn about all the electronics. It has the "Track App" function which I'll be trying out. It can measure 0-60, 60-0, 0-100, 100-0 and 1/4 mile times among other things like cornering G's and stuff like that. Overall, I am very grateful to have this car as it is better than I expected to find out there. Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the comments. Looking forward to taking her out soon as I just got it registered after a few trips to DMV and the weather here suddenly has gotten much colder. I gotta tell you, I enjoy seeing all of the signature pics of your cars! What's up with the snow, Jim?? In Florida??

I love it!!! That color with the stripes looks awesome!!! Congrats!!!

I never thought I would hear you say being nimble is more fun to drive, I've had that opinion for many years, straight line speed isn't everything.

Good find!!!!

Thanks, Carnut!! Well, I must say that HP is the name of the game in this hobby and I suspect that's why you supercharged yours. The GT500 was faster but this one's more fun to drive. But the fun quickly disappears when you're getting your doors blown off due to the lack of HP. I'm sure I'll be adding a supercharger sometime in the future :hysterical:

Thanks again, Sean

That color is simply stunning!

Great color combo ... Congratulations

Awesome color combo. Wheels also look perfect to me. Congrats, very nice!

Ruby Red is a new additional-charge option color for 2014 and was just announced by Ford that it will be made available on the 2017 GT350!

The wheels look to have the correct backspacing and offset. Designed perfectly for the S197 Mustang as they are available to purchase as a kit from Late Model Restoration.

I shipped the car to Cali in March for the Shelby Bash and drove back to Florida. The pic was taken going up to the Grand Canyon.

Another pic in Front of Shelby American...

True!! For a Muscle Car you're right. By the way I love the Mods it came with, saves you some money too. The Roush Exhaust has always sounded Great.
