circleofsnakes
Unfortunately I was unable to purchase a hood when they were available on SPP, due to lack of funds at the time. Does anyone know of a hood for sale? I've been checking eBay. No luck so far.
DubbsFaris
They are a unicorn at this point. I bought the last one and gave it to my brother to use on his SGT with the first right of buyback. (Or if mine breaks)
QuickSilverShelby
Is the Terlingua hood the same as the GT-H hood? QSS
circleofsnakes
The Terlingua hood is functional, the GT-H/CS wasn't. That hood would be a nice alternative though.
Larry T
I am glad I got mine when I did ... It is an awesome upgrade for any Shelbys that it will fit and can handle the low clearance.
teepee542
you can find several alternatives on eBay. the only major differences between mine and the Terlingua are no rear vents and the front vents are not quit as deep. here is a link to mine

teepee542
the front vents are functional and they definitely move air. You can see the effect when it is raining. how effective it is is another question. I've never done any testing as I bought it just for the looks. circleofsnakes
I was watching a damaged one that was signed, on eBay. I still haven't found one for use on my car though.
DubbsFaris
Yeah, I actually bought that one because it is off of the car I own. (Not just a Terlingua, but literally THAT car.) I have a guy who claims he can fix the hood since its fiberglass. I guess we will see. Either way, this hood is going up on the wall in the garage. circleofsnakes
I considered it. I figured anyone around here who does fiberglass would try to gouge me, since I know nothing about fiberglass repair.
DubbsFaris
Well, don't kick yourself. I put a couple grand down on my bid, so it wasn't getting away from me. You saved me from overspending though, lol That hood should have stayed with my car, and I can't fathom why it didn't.

circleofsnakes
Would anyone be interested in buying the hood, or one very similar if an aftermarket company made one? Trufiber said they'd consider making a similar hood if they can get 30 buyers.
roblectric
Is there anything on the Shelby hood that makes it stand out from any aftermarket versions? I am one of the few that purchased a leftover from SPP.

I know I'll be buying one whether it's from the place on ebay that teepee542 linked in post #6 or if Trufiber considers making them. I think if you post the interested feeler in the SGT mods and tech section you'll get quite a few people chime in and say they want one or would buy one if they made them. It probably gets a lot more traffic than this section. Jeff Edited March 2, 2016 by MyBlueHeaven

I am one of the few that purchased a leftover from SPP.Other than the fact that there is no aftermarket hood that looks like it? Only difference might be that aftermarket hoods might actually fit. Lol. I know the one extra I bought for my brother's Shelby GT took extensive work to get it to even fit. It was a nightmare.
