David Hawkins
Pretty cool. Are these Licensed by Shelby? It looks like they cut the Drip Rail off...... http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/12/29/classic-recreations-drops-ecoboost-engine-in-shelby-continuation-mustangs/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+feedburner%2FMFiX+(FOXNews.com)

twobjshelbys
They've been around for a while. This particular thing is probably precipitated by the new law that allows small builders to sell a car with a power train so long as that engine meets emissions standards. Previously they would have had to either (1) rebuild an existing car with engine and VIN or (2) build it without an engine (roller, like the Cobras). Some people will be OK with the non-period-correct engine, others will prefer to stay old-school.

JeffJ
They will not find a market for any of this with me. There's a shocker!!!! Not really me either. But it could be an interesting market. I am pretty shocked at how many of the younger generation are falling in love with the new eco boost Mustang. I know the sound is just so wrong......so wrong....for our older ears. Specially at the drag strip. So many new Mustangs with that darn 4 cyl sound coming out of the back. It's just the generation that they are growing up in. That is the sound that they are used to and even better in a Mustang now. Is what it is. Just like my daily driver 6 cyl Roush. I took the Roush mufflers off within a day and went to the stock Ford mufflers as that thing was so loud with all the wrong noises.... I do like everything that Ford is doing with the ecoboost and am getting one in a F-150 next year. I love how fast the new Mustangs are with the ecoboost, just the sound.... Oh well. Like Tony said, the new law allowing the producers to build cars with dynacorn like bodies and modern drive trains is going to open up an entire new market. Will be fun to watch. Before we bought our Honda CRV my wife more or less gave me permission to get a new Mustang convertible. I looked at the local dealer's lot and very nearly bought one of the 4-cyl cars. It has more HP than my 2008 SGT with the 4.6 V8. And the MPG is good for a city driving car. I've gotten over the "only a V8". Same with trucks - the F150 with a ecoboost 6 is a compelling vehicle for towing and driving. Unfortunately my 2004 Dodge won't die.
mikeljgt500kr
I have owned 2 4 bangers in my life, a 1975 Mustang II, the biggest dog I ever owned, and a '69 VW Squareback (2 carbs), the second biggest dog I ever owned. I swore never again, but did let my wife buy a Caddie SRX-4 with a 6 banger, not a bad car but still not much power. I did drive some 2015 6 banger Mustangs at the dragstrip in Charlotte at my Raceday with Rick event last July, they were OK, but could barely beat 15 seconds through the 1/4 mile traps. Not much to speak of compared to a Coyote. And of course I would have never entertained the idea of anything but a Raptor for my tow rig (6.2 L), and even then it needed a Whipple installed to really make it tow well. ChicagoChris
The recreations are expensive. For that kind of $ you could buy a number of great cars with a warranty.
Don Johnston
When I see these recreation toys and the prices, I see a Shelby name sell out just to keep the CHS Trust funded via the licensing. Just because they are legal does not make them worth of the Shelby name. The Shelby name is better represented by the work being done by Ford Performance and the SAI shop. BIKEBOY
You guys see those EQQUS (sp?) Mustangs? I'm wondering if they're using Dynacorn bodies too???? The front end looks like a '70 Chally and the taillights like a cross between an old Shelby or a newer Chally. Bitchin' car, but man oh man.....like the other Chris said....there's a helluva lot of nicer cars (with warranty) out there, for that kinda scratch. David Hawkins
WELL.......for just $12,500 extra you can get one in Right Hand Drive.......
william strauch
I bought an F150 with the 2.7 ECO Boost engine. The truckhauls our car without difficulty. The only drawback is you don't have the engine to help slow you down. Rides like a car, amenities galore in the Lariat version.
