BadTony
I spoke to my dealer this morning. As it turns out, they have changed the priority code on my order from 10 to 40. He claims that doing this will actually have a more positive impact and that the order will be pulled for processing sooner since all dealers are submitting their Shelby orders in at a 10 (even though 10 priority should be highest) Sounds backwards to me and also concerns me a bit. Can any of you dealer types comment on this?
Fastbackman
Sounds like a bunch of crap to me. I'm sure Five Oh B will read this and clear it up soon, but I sure don't see this as helping you.

Can any of you dealer types comment on this? That's a big red flag! Priority codes are dealer specific - there is no effect between dealerships! A priority code is each dealer's way of telling Ford which order to build like-cars. Each model (i.e. Mustang, Ranger, F150, etc.) has it's own list of orders from 10-49 priority codes. For example, all Mustang V6, GT, and GT500's at each dealer will be lumped in together from 10-49. A 40 is cool, as long as all orders from 10-39 are V6's or GT's only. If there is another GT500 in that mix (10-39 ahead of your 40), then your order got bumped and you're getting hosed! And, of course, most dealers are submitting Shelbys at 10. They are basically telling Ford that they would prefer the Shelby to be built before the V6's and GT's, but if it isn't their week to be allocated a Shelby, then Ford will just pull the lowest #'d V6 or GT order already in the order bank for that dealer. Our dealership has no Shelby at 10. They are 11, 13, 14, 15, and 20. The orders in between are V6's and GT's.
ford4v429
they have changed the priority code on my order from 10 to 40. He claims that doing this will actually have a more positive impact and that the order will be pulled for processing sooner well all I can say is sounds like BULLSHIT. Sorry, but if thats the case, he should be willing to show you his stock oder list showing nothing lower than 40- otherwise I think somebodys lying. Talk to him, be sure he knows you know how the system works- theres a lengthy thread describing the whole mess here: http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51 do yourself a favor and read it, and I'd be getting on the horn before its too late- vins get pulled thursdays. let them know to start expecting hate mail from all your forum buddies if they try to renig on an allocation promised in good faith. Last year a local dealer told me he had 2 dozen ordered cars that 'would never get built' yet had 4 'stock' orders coming that could be reconfigured for 5 over sticker...that kind of behavior is whats pissing folks off. play priority games, create a bogus 'sold' order, put it on the lot at way above msrp...why sell at sticker if you can get more? whatta you mean we had a deal? Sorry, I just got such a bad taste from a few too many dealers last year- hope you dont have to go find a honest one this late in the game. if they wont talk, you can always get a lawyer to contact them before you take out an add in the paper...sadly this type might need such a kick in the rear to make them thinktwice about greedy practices. good luck. I called Fords useless CRC about my 'allocated/priority 10' order that sat stalled for three months, they didnt know anything about allocations, said contact dealer(suprise). I wish fords website would just give upfront explanations of all this stuff- would save a lot of greif.
