Davidv6
Hello, I'm new to the forum,,,I have a question: Has anyone installed a gt500 factory radiator in a 2014 v6 automatic mustang? Can it be done with factory installation points. Thanks
David Hawkins
I do not see why it would not work BUT, only if the Upper Hose and Lower Hose connects in the same location since a 4.0 V6 and a 5.8 V8 are totally different Motors. Also, I can't remember if any of my Late Model Mustang with Automatics had Trans Lines going to the Radiator or not. All GT 500's were Manual Trans and would have no provisions for Trans Lines so a Trans Cooler would be needed. If there are no Trans Lines on your Car then just check the Radiator Hose Placements. Davidv6
Thank you,,,The transmission lines I don't think would be a issue...My automatic came from the factory with a separate trans cooler. It's not connected to the radiator like they use to be. That is one thing that throws me, everyone advertises radiators with manual trans...My friend has a new 2014 GT manual and our radiators have the same part no. even though my v6 is an automatic. .I wish I could find someone that has actually done this mod... Davidv6
I'm probably worrying about nothing, but, I installed 3:73 gears, of course the rpm's go up not bad though.. 2100-2200 at 75mph. my wife's RDX v6 runs a little over 2000 rpm at 75. I don't race the car,,,it's a picnic car, but, I do use it a lot in the mountains.
Morgan19d
You'll be fine with the stock radiator if that's all you've done. That will cause a little extra work on the engine, but the fan will keep the engine at a good temp for your driving.
JeffJ
I agree, I don't think that you have anything to worry about with the stock radiator. It's a pretty good piece. I have 3.55's in my 2013 Roush V6 and I've drag raced in 95+ temps, I've tracked it in 90ish temps and have had no issues at all. I also drive it over 70 miles a day and a lot of that is in stop and go traffic.
